Sanders Can Take on Putin

[Ariadna: As if Putin does not have enough problems as it is, now he has to face the terrifying prospect of Bernie Sanders possibly becoming the next POTUS. Don’t let his initials fool you, BS would be a formidable adversary to Putin.

As qualifications for foreign policy knowledge and experience, BS cited his years as mayor of Burlington, VT. People with little knowledge of American life, especially foreigners, are unable to appreciate the magnitude of problems the running of a metropolis like Burington poses: why the parking regulations alone!

Modest as he is wont to be, BS did not even mention his other qualification: Solzhenitsyn resided in his state for several years. OK, maybe this does not rate as highly as the up close experience Dubya had, who had the opportunity to gaze straight into Putin’s eyes and see his soul, but it is something, it is not, as they say in BS’s Brooklyn “chicken liver.” If BS gets into the White House, Putin has another thing coming!

As American citizens we can only root for BS. As Christians we must feel sorry for Putin.]

Sanders on dealing with Putin: ‘I took on a lot of people as mayor of Burlington’

Sen. Bernie Sanders pointed to his leadership as mayor of Burlington as a qualification for dealing with Russian President Vladimir Putin if he is elected president.

Speaking with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in Chicago on Thursday night, Sanders was asked whether he has the necessary foreign policy experience to handle Putin.

“I took on a lot of people as mayor of Burlington,” Sanders said, according to DNA Info Chicago. “I think I can stand up to Putin and all the others.”

Sanders repeatedly has had to fend off skepticism that his foreign policy credentials are lacking for the White House. The Vermont senator recently reached out to Lawrence J. Korb of the Center for American Progress, an expert on defense policy, to invite him to be a senior adviser on foreign policy for the campaign.
