As his speech had been given outside French territory, French law would not apply. In this case, however, it was the professor’s written essay The Victories of Revisionism, published in Tehran then distributed on the Internet, that had led to the three charges.   1. All pretence has been dropped; the European Union is ~ as Soviet President warned, a mirror image of the Soviet Union. It is high time to gaol our political oppressors, not those who expound an opinion critical of the policies of the un-elected political elite.
