ed note–ever since this topic was first broached by POTUS DJT, all the reactionary and tunnel-visioned chatter and controversy surrounding it has missed some very important points.
Everyone has homed in on the fact that Greenland has ‘important resources’ and that this best explains why suddenly, from seemingly out of the blue, the most powerful man in the world has taken an interest in annexing it and making it part of the US.
And this may very much be the case. Maybe it is all about rare earth minerals needed for today’s high-tech economy and POTUS DJT knows that someone else getting them first would put the US and the West in a seriously disadvantaged position.
However, as it is with many things these days, maybe it is much bigger and much more serious than that. Maybe it isn’t just about ‘rare earth’ minerals needed for ‘high-tech’, but something even more existential in nature that people need to consider.
Remember, of the many bullet-points that made up DJT’s election campaign repertoire, the one item that was the most prominent and the one that obviously worried him the most was the possibility/probability of a WWIII fought with nuclear weapons.
Therefore, one of the questions we are all forced to consider is whether or not his sudden interest in acquiring Greenland factors into all of this.
Is he setting up Greenland as a ‘Noah’s Ark’ refuge for whoever/whatever is left in the aftermath of a Judaically-engineered nuclear war? Is he concerned about a new ‘plague’ emanating from Israel’s IIBR bioweapons lab and is thinking ‘long-term’ about Greenland being a quarantined sanctuary for the uninfected so that society can start over again after the US is turned into a real-life version of an episode of The Walking Dead?
Yes, it may very well be that it really is all about the rare-earth minerals that are said to exist in the ground in Greenland, but in today’s topsy-turvey world where every day brings some new ‘surprise’ that no one saw coming, it may be something much more serious than simple ‘capitalism’ politics.
US President Donald Trump told NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte that US control of Greenland was necessary for ‘international security’.
During talks with Rutte at the White House on Thursday, Trump again stressed the strategic importance of the Arctic island.
Asked by a reporter about plans for a possible annexation, Trump said, ‘Well, I think it will happen.’
Referring to Rutte, Trump mentioned that he hadn’t given much thought to it before but now was sitting next to someone who could be instrumental in helping the US annex Greenland.
‘You know, Mark, we need that for international security…We have a lot of our favorite players cruising around the coast, and we have to be careful,’ Trump told Rutte. ‘We’ll be talking to you.’
Rutte said he wanted to stay out of the debate on whether the island should become part of the United States and didn’t want to ‘drag NATO into that.’
Control over Greenland would increase US influence in the resource-rich Arctic region, where Russia and China have been building their presence.
What does Greenland say about Trump’s proposal?
Trump’s comments drew a swift rejection from Greenland’s outgoing prime minister.
‘The US president has once again aired the thought of annexing us,’ Mute Egede said in a Facebook post on Thursday. ‘Enough is enough.’
Egede said he would seek to convene a meeting of party leaders to jointly reject Trump’s vow to take over Greenland, home to nearly 57,000 people.
Jens-Frederik Nielsen, the leader of the island’s pro-business Demokraatit party, which won Greenland’s parliamentary election on Tuesday, also rejected the comments.
‘Trump’s statement from the US is inappropriate and just shows once again that we must stand together in such situations,’ Nielsen wrote on Facebook.
Greenland officially belongs to the kingdom of Denmark but in 2009 gained self-rule over most of its internal affairs.
The island remains financially heavily dependent on Denmark, and foreign affairs and defense are run by the government in Denmark.
According to polls, most Greenlanders support independence from Denmark but not annexation by the United States.
An “ancient atomic war” ~12,000 years ago and written about in the Mahabharata may have been a ‘reboot’ of an ancient advanced civilization which experienced similar face-off between good and evil forces.
Residual radiation, trinitite in about 10 archeological sites around the world suggest such atomic weapons usage.
