Sabba – Amsterdam… The city once coined by the chosenites “The Jerusalem of the North”. What is most shocking about this kind of news is that it does not shock anyone.
Amsterdam Red Light District is the biggest tourist attraction the city has to offer and not only the Dutch do not seem to mind but they brag about it. This, they say, is a sign that shows how progressive, modern, tolerant their country is and a lot of them take immense pride in it.
It is heartbreaking to watch this gorgeous country, this great nation which has given the world some of its greatest artists of all time, it is heartbreaking to watch it sink way below the status of decadence, to watch it reach a point of no return.
If there must be a “sex industry”, better it be run by the “workers” than gangsters.
That the “sex industry” exists says a lot about the society in which it exists.
It also implies a lot about the illness of the institution of money.
I remember decades ago a documentary on Australian public television in which an intelligent thoughtful high class prostitute explained that working in that industry was the only way she could afford a high quality education for her children.
Sad, ain’t it?
