ed note–in the immediate moments following the ‘breaking’ of the now-infamous ‘pizzagate’ story, we were being inundated with emails from readers wondering why we weren’t ‘running with it’. I/we explained that–Like it’s twin sisters Sandy Hook, the Boston Marathon bombing, etc, that it had all the initial earmarks of being yet another wild goose chase that had been deliberately concocted by our enemies designed to make us all look bad and ruin our credibility. Turns out, we were right, and even someone as unhinged as Alex Jones now recognizes what a mistake it all was.

All can rest assured however that even as these words are being written and read, THEY are busy at work conjuring up the next one, and what’s worse, WE as movement, or at least an embarrassingly high number of us, will fall for it all over again and in the process, rather than adopt the ‘2 steps forward, 1 step back’ strategy employed by our enemies, will instead adopt the ‘1 step forward, 5 steps back’ strategy that our enemies have insinuated into our protocols.

Washington Post

Alex Jones, the conspiracy-loving media personality, apologized Friday for his role in promoting “Pizzagate,” the baseless viral story that a Washington pizza restaurant was the locale of a child sex-abuse ring run by Hillary Clinton and her campaign chairman, John Podesta.

In a surprising and rare bit of backtracking, Jones posted a six-minute video on his website, “InfoWars,” in which he read a prepared statement formally distancing himself and his site from what became a textbook story of fake news run amok. He addressed his apology to James Alefantis, the owner of Comet Ping Pong, the restaurant that was the supposed locale of the alleged conspiracy last year.

“I made comments about Mr. Alefantis that in hindsight I regret, and for which I apologize to him,” Jones said. “We relied on third-party accounts of alleged activities and conduct at the restaurant. We also relied on accounts of [two] reporters who are no longer with us.”

He added, “To my knowledge today, neither Mr. Alefantis nor his restaurant Comet Ping Pong, were involved in any human trafficking as was part of the theories about Pizzagate.” The story, he said, “was based upon what we now believe was an incorrect narrative.”

Jones, a staunch supporter of Donald Trump during the presidential campaign, offered no comment or apology to Clinton or Podesta for outlandish statements about their alleged involvement in the abuse of hundreds of children.

Jones didn’t say what prompted his apology but it may have been motivated by a letter Alefantis wrote to him in February. The letter demands an apology and retraction for InfoWars’ postings about Pizzagate; it does not threaten legal action, but refers to what Alefantis describes as “defaming” comments by InfoWars.

But the timing of Jones’s apology suggests he was concerned about a potential lawsuit. Under Texas law, the Austin-based Jones had to retract or apologize for the stories by Friday — one full month after receiving Alefantis’s letter — to avoid exposing InfoWars to punitive damages in a libel suit.

In a statement, Alefantis said, “I am pleased that Mr. Jones has apologized and admitted that he and his employees repeatedly spread falsehoods about me and my restaurant. I wish that he would have made this admission and apology months ago. And his apology, while welcome, does nothing to address the harm he and his company have done to me, my business, and my community.”

Alefantis’s spokeswoman, Molly Levinson, said Friday that Alefantis and his attorney “continue to evaluate our legal claims.”

As the story spread, Alefantis and his employees received multiple death threats. The rumors culminated in December when a North Carolina man, Edgar Madisson Welch, came to the restaurant with a loaded assault rifle and handgun in what he called an attempt to investigate the claims. He fired the rifle several times while inside the restaurant, according to court documents.

Welch coincidentally pleaded guilty on Friday to weapons and assault charges in an agreement with federal prosecutors in the District.

InfoWars wasn’t the principal progenitor of the false story. The story spread primarily through such user-generated sites as Reddit and 4chan, as well as through fake-news websites and social media.

But InfoWars played a role, publishing numerous articles and commentaries that speculated about the alleged involvement of Clinton and Podesta. Pizzagate was sparked by cryptic comments made by Podesta in emails that were stolen and later released by WikiLeaks during the campaign.

Among the more damaging elements cited by Alefantis in his Feb. 22 letter was InfoWars’ role in encouraging its followers “to go out and investigate the ‘Pizzagate’ conspiracy theory, to come to my restaurant and investigate lies.”

In his statement, Alefantis noted, “We can all hope that Mr. Jones’ retreat is the beginning of a process to hold accountable the people who motivated an armed gunman to travel across state lines and fire his weapon in a family-friendly restaurant.”

  1. Pizzagate wreaked from the get go; however amusing and, if true couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of Capitalists. Yes, it was noticeable that TUT wasn’t bogged down in these shadow myths.
Now, i wonder about 2 reporters; Uhhh one i can see manufacturing some loaded bs or even taking buck$ to help with life’s expenses, and reporters are not well paid to be sure, but TWO? now it seems we’re talking some serious collusion… or is it really just one reporter + one to make it sound like Infotripe was Cleaning House and now. al r tripe we print is true tripe…cuz we kleen’dup r ak ~
2 Reporters, plz plz, come out, wherever you are? ok, just one of you: Meanwhile, there must have been some shred of real or true to make this a real fake News Bomb, uhhh still exploding. I see Reporter # 2 dumping his beans and looking for employment at the WaPu
No body ever went broke underestimating the stoopidity of the American Public.

  2. I have no idea what “pizza gate” is. I noticed the wackjobs were promoting it so I never wasted my time by clicking on any links. I’ve read the editorial above though, and I’m glad I never got involved in the lunacy. People are dying, wars are in the making, and yet this is the crap that captures people…

  3. Where there is smoke there is fire and I still believe there have been unsavoury events taking place in that place and part of town. Very powerful deviants in Washington pay much money to hide their proclivities from the public resulting in blackmail as often as not.
There was a lot of sensationalism regarding the Alefantis establishment and others, the smoke was there but people grasped at some pretty idiotic “clues” in the process. Great way to distract.
I did not trust Jones before, so his capitulation here means next to nothing to me; he could have bowed down for any combination of a great variety of reasons. Jones is no longer a “rebel” with a horrible voice: he is now part of the established anti-establishment although few recognize that fact yet. And threats of a lawsuit from one of the most important people in Washington DC, a pizza maker, could also carry a little weight here.
I don’t argue with anyone about these issues. It is not worth it; nor do I spend hours researching sketchy unprovable information. Having spent years on psychological and sexual abuse of children by the rich and powerful, I have learned a few things. Some of the signs were present so I cannot write it off because Jones suddenly sees the error of his ways. I just continue to watch but don’t get distracted. Truth might eventually come out, but I don’t hold my breath.

ed note–indeed, we know how pedophilia and blackmail are used to keep powerful people in line. This is a fact that is beyond dispute and is not the focus of this piece.
The focus is how a ‘false flag’ was created in order to get a bunch of people who have been deemed problematic by the NWO to go off half cocked and to run around in circles making idiots out of themselves in order to create a political narrative that the NWO needed–namely that anyone who challenges the ‘official narrative’ is unstable and–as was evidenced in this particular case where an obviously unhinged individual showed up at the pizza place armed to the teeth and started firing off rounds–potentially dangerous.
Alex Jones and his past have nothing to do with it, other than to show how he will pander to the unbridled conspiracyism that is his bread and butter up until the point that it might cost him dearly. Fetzer, Halbig and the rest with their ‘Sandy Hook Hoax’ bullshit would do the same, and I guarantee you, they will, when they are faced with crippling lawsuits arising out of the damage that they did to innocent people.

  4. Anyone who writes off Pizza gate as Fake News is falling for the proverbial red herring. There’s no doubt a huge problem with pedophilia in government as has been proven with regard to the British Parliament. Watch videos if Biden fondly many very young girls and tell me he’s not a HUGE PERV!!! Another tell take sign of there being credence to claims of pedophilia in government is the attempt to paint pedophiles as not being criminals and that pedophilia is not so abnormal!!! We elect psychopaths and Wacko’s and we’re getting the government we deserve as a result.
ed note–no one is denying the pedophilia and its attending blackmail is a reality, but if you can’t see that the entire ‘Pizzagate’ thing was a red herring designed to get all of us honking a bunch of nonsense and making idiots out of ourselves in the process, then I’m afraid there’s nothing more to be said about it.

  5. Indeed, the whole pizzagate conspiracy was designed by the Jewish establish to make Hillary and people surrounding her look like satanic-child-fucking-cannibals, what a genius PR move, imo.
Next time I run for office, I’ll have my PR guys spread rumors on the internet that I’m a satanic-child-fucking-cannibal in order to win my election just like Hillary did. Then I’ll threaten anyone who says I might be a satanic-child-fucking-cannibal because of what my PR team told them I actually was, just like Hillary and friends are doing now. Just think, if wasn’t for pizzagate accusations on the internet, Trump might’ve won. Well played Hillary, well played.
Boy, the Jewish establishment really suckered us this time with pizzagate. And now that Alex Jones, a man of a flawless reput, has said that the pizzagate was all a hoax, (remember this is same courageous man that pointed out that Muslims run the media and that Nazis wanted Europe flooded with migrants.) we can be rest assured that there was nothing to pizzagate at all.
Ed note–once again, surprise, surprise, people don’t get it, and not even when they are contradicting their own position in mid-argument.
As you rightly intimated, AJ is pure disinformation, from his ‘Arabs run Hollywood’ to ‘the Nazis are back and running the show’ to his deliberate protection racket he maintains for Israel and organized jewish interests, he is there for reasons rooted in confusion, diversion, and distraction.
Which includes–drum role please–all the BS he peddled for months dealing with sandy hook, the Boston Marathon bombing, and–another drum roll please–Pizzagate.
If anything, what his reversal shows is that he can’t be trusted and can only be counted on to ‘go with the flow’ vis a vis either what his handlers tell him to push or what his followers–who never ran into a conspiracy theory they didn’t swallow whole hog irrespective of whether there was an ounce of truth to it–goad him into pushing.
Yes, you’re right, AJ is disinfo, which begs the question–if indeed this is the case, then doesn’t that make the Sandy Hook Hoax, Boston bombing, and Pizzagate disinformation as well, considering that AJ was one of the biggest disseminators of those theories?
And by the way, since you’ve yet to do the math on it, Pizzagate wasn’t created to hurt Hillary, but to hurt Trump, because the people who came up with it knew that Trump’s supporters would run with it whole hog and in the process, make idiots of themselves and by extension make him look bad.
