The Reuters (aka Routers) article states:
“Warmbier, an Ohio native and student at the University of Virginia, was arrested in North Korea in January 2016 while visiting as a tourist. He was sentenced two months later to 15 years of hard labor for trying to steal an item bearing a propaganda slogan from his hotel in North Korea’s capital, Pyongyang, the nation’s state media said.”
Yeah, sure.

The above article discusses Young Pioneer Tours. Warmbier was said to have purchased a tour into N. Korea from this company.

Its motto is “providing budget travel to destinations your mother would rather you stayed away from”, referring to the fact that at present all foreign tourists in North Korea must be accompanied by a guide.

Now, I don’t know about you, but doesn’t Young Pioneer Tours sound a bit like an intelligence front? And wouldn’t one think that spooks recruit at the University of Virginia (in Charlottesville, VA) which is a 2 hour drive from Langley (McLean, VA)?

Much more than meets the idea in the Otto Warmbier story. Why the stories on Otto Warmbier don’t mention Fred Warmbier’s blog at the NYTimes and the Forbes articles and the Deming Institute is open to discussion.
