Nobody knows about this disaster. I wear the USS Liberty hat all the time and have to explain it everyone I meet.
Interesting.
And Miriam Pensack manages to still push the possibility that it was all a simple mistake using Chief Petty Officer Marvin Nowickis excuse.
If this were true then they have nothing to hide – right?
Unfortunately for them they know ……… that we know…….. that they knew it was the Liberty – the recon identified her at first light and they jammed her communications frequencies (only an ally would know these) attacked her three times and they even have the tapes of the assault communications to prove they knew it was GTR-5.

James Bamford’s book, Body of Secrets – Anatomy of the Ultra-Secret National Security Agency, gives a great account of the events involving the USS Liberty. The Navy had an EC-121M assigned to VQ-2 in a reconnaissance orbit at that time with NSA “special Arabic” i.e. Hebrew linguists onboard. Suffice it to say, the entire event was monitored and recorded.
