Poor Saakashvili. He never recovered from his humiliation of August 2008 when he ordered his military to savagely attack Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and he was crushed by Russia in only four days.
Saakashvili was assisted by hoards of Israelis, and he thought he would also be militarily assisted by the USA, but he was wrong. Bush was preparing to leave the White House, and Wall Street was preparing to install Obama. Thus, Mr. Saakashvili’s timing was extremely poor. As a result of his blunder, Abkhazia and South Ossetia both became permanently independent, and to this day they remain full of Russian troops.
For a long time I wondered why Russia let Saakashvili live. Why not just send a hit squad to liquidate him? The only thing I can figure is that after his defeat and humiliation, Saakashvili became so weak and trivial that Russia had no need to eliminate him. His sheer presence would keep Georgia weak and a laughing stock.
Even today, Saakashvili is still so humiliated that he is now begging the USA to attack Russia via Ukraine. He lives in Brooklyn New York, and can’t even go back to Ukraine any more, as he will be arrested for corruption.
Correction
I meant to say he can’t go back to Georgia any more.
