Former minister outlines plan for Arab ‘autonomy,’ emphasizes that Palestinian state endangers Israel’s future.
ed note–as we like to say here from time to time, BY ALL MEANS, all yuuz out there holding loud-and-proud membership in the myopic ‘Trump is owned by dJooz brigade’, pay absolutely NO MIND WHATSOEVER to glaringly important pieces such as this that provide a vitally important perspective as to the who, what, where, when, why, and how of the unprecedented campaign on the part of organized Jewish interests in trying to unseat a sitting president and replace him with his Christian Zionist counterpart VP.
Now, having said that, those who DO wish to get a better understanding about all of this, please consider the following nuggets contained in this piece–
1. That the ruling class/political power structure in Israel has ALREADY made up its mind about Trump’s proposed ‘peace deal’, to wit–
‘Under Netanyahu, Israel removed itself from the dangerous path of (land) withdrawals which began in the days of Oslo and continued for more than a decade.’
as well as–
‘Netanyahu did stand up to the Obama administration for eight years and removed Israel from the precedent that [former Prime Minister] Ehud Olmert placed on the table, because the Obama administration’s original desire was to continue talks with Israel and the Palestinians from where Olmert left off. And he (Netanyahu) deserves credit for (ending) that.’
and finally–
‘Israel needs to oppose the creation of a Palestinian state under US President Donald Trump’s peace plan. This is my opinion, and I expressed it at a meeting I held with US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman…There is no reason to stick to a draft whose main point is the creation of an Arab state in the heart of the land of Israel. It doesn’t matter if it’s called a ‘state minus’. I oppose a Palestinian state. In my eyes it’s a dangerous idea for the future of the Jewish nation in their own land.’
But perhaps one of the more glaringly apparent and interesting statements from Sa’ar is as follows–
‘A Palestinian state means they control their borders…’
Let us repeat that again for emphasis–
A Palestinian state means they control their borders…
Brilliant political analysis. Thank you for following in the footsteps of Michael Collins Piper.
ed note–wow, what can I say except thank you–there is no higher compliment someone could pay me than to put me in the same room–although certainly not at the same level–as the irreplaceable MCP.
@VP, Israel is looking to slot you in as president as soon as they think they can arrange it. Better indicate to them that on assuming the presidency in dubious circumstances, that you will commission open inquiry, none of whose findings will be redacted before being made public.
