Republican presidential candidate Lindsey Graham, in an explosive interview with Jeffery Goldberg at the 2015 Aspen Ideas Festival, accused Obama of ‘sitting down and talking with people [Iran] who are nuts as if they were not nuts.’

The Caliphate doesn’t represent a threat to the world order, as the nuclear-armed Iran, so it is not even close for me. JEFFREY GOLDBERG: So, from your perspective, what is the wrong with the pending Iranian nuclear deal, for instance?
GRAHAM: Oh, other than they are sitting down and talking with people who are nuts as if they were not nuts.

Part of the tactics that Washington District of Columbia produces is to maneuver others into a position as to then create a need or needs. This many times then weakens their so called enemy enemies so as to place them in a more ‘favorable’ mood and environment to negotiate. It is an arm bending technique. Obama claims that the Iranian officials are on the hook for millions of dollars towards the Iranian people.
That statement seems to be an attempt to put the Iranian officials in a defense posture to their own, or at least to plant that seed into the psyche of the Iranian officials. Another use might be to try to get Iranians into thinking just what are their own officials doing?
This TPP can effect Iran in the long term. It will in essence be one huge sanction that limits / permits trades. If one is not a signatory to it, well…suffer the consequences.

Today, Washington D.C. is once again courting other countries in Southeast Asia and vicinity, and inviting them for talks. Of course the justification is what to do with the ‘Chinese threat’. Yes, they are talking alright. Lockheed Martin is talking, Ashton Carter is talking, trade negotiators are talking, etc.
Viet Nam and the Philippine Islands have been softened up and the use of the ‘Chinese threat’ has played an important role in developing these talks. There is much in this TPP deal as it runs at the same time that this ‘Chinese threat’ is underway.
