[Ariadna: Very odd case unfolding in USrael’s vassal state, Romania. A hacker, a Romanian citizen with three names (all three rather Jewish), is nabbed by the Romanian authorities for cyber fraud in 2014 and sentenced to four years imprisonment. The US is in hurry to have him extradited to the US. “Leaks” make him into the mastermind who revealed Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail. They also describe him as “Illuminati obsessed.” Why won’t the US let him serve out his 4-year prison term in Romania first? Are his talents needed in the US or is this “extradition” the payment for services already rendered? What does his code name — Guccifer — suggest? A Satanist with a flair for a “label” wardrobe (not evident in the arrest photo)?]

REUTERS/MEDIAFAX/SILVIU MATEI: Romania’s top court has approved a request by U.S. authorities to extradite a convicted hacker known as Guccifer, a source within Romania’s DIICOT anti-organized crime and terrorism unit told Reuters on Friday.

“The court approved an 18-month temporary extradition to America for the hacker. This follows a request made by U.S. authorities,” the source said.

A Romanian justice ministry spokeswoman said details of the extradition request had not yet been made public.

The U.S. Justice Department said in 2014 that a U.S. federal grand jury had indicted Marcel Lazar Lehel on charges of wire fraud, unauthorized access to a protected computer, aggravated identity theft, cyberstalking and obstruction of justice.

The United States accuses Lehel, known by aliases including “Guccifer” and “Small Fume”, of stealing data from email and social media accounts of U.S. celebrities and politicians (e.g., GW Bush, Colin Powell).
