Only a fool could ask that question with any seriousness. They have been doing it for a very long time. Meanwhile they use these people as lab rats for their new poisons, as with their latest round of teargas.
Look at the what they did to members of the Tamimi family of late. I cannot get the images of Mahammed Tamimi out of my head, mercifully he is now a martyr. They go for whatever, whoever, catches their eye.
But primarily they want to demotivate the young.

some rattlesnakes are venomous.
“some” is the verbal escape clause against criminal prosecution by thought police.
