ED-NOTE (Sabba) – Sounds like jews are getting itchy feet and hands, sounds like they need to get their fix, sounds they can not wait to go and “mow the lawn” in Gaza and test their latest weapons.

I24 NEWS – Israel has begun testing new techniques to detect hidden tunnels created by Gaza based terrorist groups, security sources said, according to Reuters.

Marked as a “top priority,” Israeli security services have tested new technologies for spotting movement or cavities below ground, the sources explained, but said that the system has not been officially announced as fully operational.

According to Reuters, the sources said that foreign geologists and surveillance experts have played a part in the testing of new techniques.

“It’s working, but it still isn’t 100 percent,” one security source involved in the project said, according to the report.

Ever since last summer’s Gaza War where Hamas used tunnels to infiltrate into Israel, the IDF has been preparing for renewed activity by Gaza terrorists using tunnels.

Hundreds of millions of shekels have already been invested in implementing lessons learned from the war: mock tunnels have been built in IDF training camps and soldiers are being given training on operating machinery to destroy the tunnels.

The Israeli army did its best to destroy the tunnel network during the 50-day conflict, but says Gaza militant groups have since resumed work on the infrastructure.

The Egyptian army has destroyed some 1,600 tunnels under its border with Gaza, used primarily to smuggle goods into the Strip, since it ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi two years ago.
