ISRAEL JUDAISM

PRESS TV Israel says it has hit two Syrian army targets in the Golan Heights in response to what it calls stray fire from the Syrian side. An Israeli military spokeswoman said on Monday that the Tel Aviv regime forces launched strikes against two Syrian army positions in the Golan Heights overnight.

She provided no further details about the targets that were struck or the weapons Israeli forces used to attack them.

The overnight attack came in response to what Israel called stray fire coming from the Syrian side.

There’s been no immediate comment from the Syrian government about the latest Israeli aggression.

Tel Aviv, which is believed to be one of the key supporters of terrorist groups in Syria, has targeted the region several times in recent years.

In September last year, Israel launched at least three airstrikes against Syrian army positions in the Golan Heights.

Last month, Syrian media reported similar attacks south of the city of Homs.

Syria says Israel and its Western and regional allies are aiding Takfiri militant groups operating inside the Arab country.

The Syrian army has repeatedly seized huge quantities of Israeli-made weapons and advanced military equipment from the foreign-backed militants inside Syria.

Reports say Israel has set up field hospitals in the occupied Syrian territory of the Golan Heights for the treatment of injured militants.

In December 2015, Daily Mail said the Israeli regime had saved the lives over 2,000 Takfiri militants at the cost of around USD 13 million since 2013.

Israel seized the Golan Heights from Syria after the 1967 Six-Day War and later occupied it in a move that has never been recognized by the international community.

The regime has built tens of illegal settlements in the area ever since and has used the region to carry out a number of military operations against the Syrian government.

Visiting Israeli troops in the occupied Golan Heights on April 11, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that Israel had attacked Syria dozens of times over the past months.

Syria says Israel and its Western and regional allies are aiding Takfiri militant groups operating inside the Arab country.

The United Nations (UN)’s Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura estimates that over 400,000 people have been killed in the Syrian conflict. The UN has stopped its official casualty count in Syria, citing its inability to verify the figures it receives from various sources.

HAARETZ – Israel attacked two military targets in Syria in response to what the army described as “unusual” cross-border spillover from the conflict ravaging the country in recent years.

The army said the original fire hit near the Golan Heights security fence, but did not threaten Israelis living near the Syrian-Israeli border. It said that the Israel Defense Forces do not intervene in the war in Syria but would respond to any incursion.

In April, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted for the first time that Israel had conducted strikes against its northern neighbor. “We act when we need to act, including here across the border, with dozens of strikes meant to prevent Hezbollah [from obtaining] game-changing weaponry,” Netanyahu said during a visit to an IDF military exercise in the Golan Heights.

Israel has never publicly admitted to carrying out the attacks in the past.

Last month, a Syrian news website reported that Israeli warplanes attacked Syrian army posts south of the city of Homs, citing a Syrian military source. Israel did not comment on the report.

In the fall of last year, Israel and Russia formed a joint committee for coordination of their military activities in Syria. The mechanism was put in place to prevent misunderstandings and unintended confrontations between the Israeli military and Russian forces deployed in Syria.

  1. Supporting ISIS. ISIS always calls in airstrikes when they are in trouble.
