YNET – ‘If Jonathan is not allowed to come to Jerusalem, Jerusalem will come to him,’ Nir Barkat tells the former Israeli spy, who is currently not allowed to leave the US.

Barkat, who was in the Big Apple for a Jerusalem fundraising event, quickly removed the golden Jerusalem pin from his lapel and attached it to Pollard’s suspenders.

“If Jonathan is not allowed to come to Jerusalem, Jerusalem will come to him. We long for the day you could come to Jerusalem and make it your true home,” Barkat told Pollard.

This was Pollard’s first meeting with an Israeli official since his release from prison last November after 30 years. As part of his parole terms, he is not allowed to leave the United States for the five years following his release.
