israel gaza palestine

JERUSALEM POST – In his first interview with Palestinian media, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman told Al-Qudsthat should another war break out between Israel and Hamas in Gaza it would be the last.

The full interview was set to be published on Monday.

Liberman also discussed his vision for the future including a two-state solution that would feature an exchange of territory, with Israel keeping large settlement blocs.

Similarly, in September, during a wide-ranging policy talk with students at Ariel University., Liberman had called for a peace deal with the Palestinians that is based on population and land swaps.

“The principle of land for peace has failed,” Liberman said.

He promoted what has long been both his diplomatic plan and that of the Yisrael Beytenu party. It calls for the borders of the two-state solution to be drawn in such a way as to exclude the maximum amount of Palestinians and to include as many Israelis as possible.

The best path forward, he said, “is an exchange of territories and population.”

Such a plan would put the settlement blocs within Israel’s final borders, but exclude some Israeli-Arab areas of Israel.

“Why should the Triangle and Umm al-Fahm be part of Israel?” Liberman asked. “Why should I subsidize [Islamic movement leader Raed] Salah and pay [MK] Hanin Zoabi [Joint List]?”

However, he cautioned, such a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would have to be part and parcel of a larger comprehensive agreement with the Arab world.

Legally, he said, there is precedence for this. When he was Foreign Minister, he said he had asked the office’s legal advisors for an opinion on the matter and had received an affirmative response in writing.

  1. What is required is a one-state solution in which all residents have equal rights and none are discriminated against. Not a Muslim, Christian, Jewish (or any other religion) state, but a secular state, founded on democratic and fair principles, respecting all the religious beliefs of its participants. The eminently sensible principles Locke propounded 350 years ago still haven’t sunk in to bone-headed mankind. Equality demands that if Jews are allowed in from all over the world, without any natural or legal attachment to land in the area, so should those displaced Palestinians that do. If they were evicted by force, they should be allowed back by agreement. Israel has worked hard over half a century to ensure the current Palestinian territory is unviable in every respect. The one state solution is therefore the only one that has a chance of working. That is why Zionists will not agree to it. Their greed for power and control is limitless and in the process they slowly slip into a morass of selfishness and inhumanity, that as with all such, must guarantee the downfall of the regime. What pain and suffering in the process though – and not just limited to that little patch of land? For as we can see the stupidity of America supporting interests instead of principles, has resulted in the current world-power stand-off, in which nuclear weapon balance precariously on the fulcrum of the Middle East in general and Israel in particular. The question is, should a million zionists hold the rest of the seven BILLION on the planet to ransom?

  2. A secular state, founded on democratic and fair principles: the kind of secular democracies we have in the west? See how well that has worked out for us! Democracy leads to oligarchy which leads to dictatorship of the powerful, i.e. those who have the money-
And the money lenders have always been the same, since the dawn of time.

  3. Same song and dance the Khazars have been doing for the last 75 years when it comes to Palestine. Nothing new and no surprise.
Here is the simple solution to this problem. And it is very very simple and no one will have to die if it could just be carried out.
All needs to be done is cut israel off totally. Just stop all funding and all support AND place a world wide embargo against it. All the rest of the nations of the world will be glad, more than happy, to follow our lead in that and get totally on board with it. Cut the zionists off and isolate them giving them no friend to be found any where.
Do you know what will happen then? Not WW3. No bomb dropping. No war.
What will happen is the over whelming majority of the merry band of zionist gypsies will leave all on their own and head back to their mother nations where they all still hold citizenship in. Oh sure they moan and whine about how Palestine is suppose to be their “promised land” and it is the only “real home” they ever had and they will “never let it go”. Blah blah blah…
Thats all a big drama queen act. The only loyalty they really have for that place is that it is FREE! We the American people pay for it for them. They live off of us. They suck us and the rest of the world bone dry every day they have been there and continue to be there.
But the day we the US of A pull that cash cow tit out of their mouths is the day you will see them pack up and leave like roaches on a hot stove.
When the money is gone and they face total isolation in the world, nothing going in and nothing going out, total embargo of every thing they have….
The world will see the over whelming majority of them leave that place for good. Hop on boats and planes and leave lickity split.
It really is just that simple.
The real problem is not the Palestinian/zionist Khazar conflict.
The problem is our very own leaders right here at home and our people not wanting to do what it takes to make them listen to us.
