It’s Christmastime, which means a never-ending torrent of Holocaust programming.
More horse manure. Funny no one knew about it ’till after he died; not his family or anyone until a couple of Jews “casually mentioned it”. What about all the other POWs? Besides, how many jews were there out of a thousand? Two? Five?. LOL!

So Sergeant Roddie Edmonds saved 200 Jewish American servicemen out of a total 1,000 captured American servicemen in this incident, by standing forward and claiming that all 1,000 servicemen were in fact Jewish, so that the German officer would not send all of them to certain death in the gas chambers, or a slave labour camp, where chances of survival were extremely slim.
No point in training ‘slaves’ to perform highly complex tasks vital to the German war effort, like building V2 rockets, if the Germans were simply working them all to death and not feeding them. The whole story is pure crap of course.
So one in five American servicemen were Jewish. I can believe that, I really can. I also believe how astonishingly brave Jewish people actually were in WWII, numbering one fifth of the entire number of American fighting personnel, I really believe that. Not.

Jewish POWS came under the protection of the Hague, and Geneva Conventions.
They where under the authority of the German Armed Forces, and protection.
The Heer ( Army) kepted control of the same of the enemy ,Luftwaffe ( Airforce ) handled allied Airforce personal ,and Kriegsmarine like wise.
The Concentration Camps came under the Ministry Of The Interior ,and SS .its inhabitants classified as ” detained enemy civilians ” ,in International Law ,as that is what they where !
The Zio Christian pushing this is telling very tall tails.
The ” gun to his head ” is pure bullshit ,he gleaned from Hollywood films, and bad history books.

95 % of all Allied POWS ,including the very few Jews who where ,or even went into combat came back in good order.

I would like to add. All POWs where registered with protecting powers ( neutral nations) and the International Red Cross.
Both sides in the war maintained discreet diplomatic communications about who they had .
Their was OIW exchanges during the war.
The Germans, and Allied side where required to report who they held.
German intelligence was very good on who they held as German sympathizers in the US clipped newspaper’ induction notices from US papers through neutral nations as well.
POWS where required to give name, rank, and serial number.
The Germans already knew who were Jews !
