YNET – Norway’s fourth-largest newspaper has recently published a caricature depicting supporters of circumcision for Jews and Muslims as pedophiles.
The offensive caricature appeared in The Dagbladet, the second largest tabloid in the country that has a circulation of approximately 75,000 copies a day.
The caricature depicts a man wearing a kippah (skullcap) and a bearded man standing next to him, both holding signs reading ‘Yes to circumcision’ and ‘Religious freedom.’ A third man, wearing a ratty coat, tells them: “I know what you mean. I, too, am told by an invisible man to fiddle with children’s penises.”
The Israeli Embassy in Norway sent a strong condemnation to the newspaper.
The ambassador in Oslo, Rafi Schutz, said: “This is a disgraceful caricature that represents a fanatical religion of false liberalism that shows zero tolerance for opinions and beliefs different from those who believe themselves to be enlightened.”

The idea of Male Genital Mutilation in areas where there is very little water and bathing is a luxury of course is terrible. God forbid that a boy or man should keep clean. Let him use sand to remove any detritus.

My understanding may be incorrect, but I thought that male circumcision resulted in LESS sexual satisfaction and thus the need, on average, for circumcised males to be ‘on the prowl’ and to look outside of a monogamous relationship for pleasure they may, or may not, ultimately find.
‘Twenty uncircumcised men and an equal number of age-matched circumcised participants underwent genital and nongenital sensory testing at baseline and in response to erotic and control stimulus films. Touch and pain thresholds were assessed on the penile shaft, the glans penis, and the volar surface of the forearm. Sexual arousal was assessed via thermal imaging of the penis.
RESULTS:In response to the erotic stimulus, both groups evidenced a significant increase in penile temperature, which correlated highly with subjective reports of sexual arousal. Uncircumcised men had significantly lower penile temperature than circumcised men, [edit ; before arousal] and evidenced a larger increase in penile temperature with sexual arousal. No differences in genital sensitivity were found between the uncircumcised and circumcised groups. Uncircumcised men were less sensitive to touch on the forearm than circumcised men. A decrease in overall touch sensitivity was observed in both groups with exposure to the erotic film as compared with either baseline or control stimulus film conditions. No significant effect was found for pain sensitivity.
CONCLUSION:
These results do not support the hypothesised penile sensory differences associated with circumcision. However, group differences in penile temperature and sexual response were found.’
