“Palestinian children in Gaza are exposed to more violence in their lifetime than any other people, any other children, anywhere in the world. If you look at children right now who are 10 years old, they’ve been through Cast Lead in 2008 and 2009, the invasion in 2012 and now the invasion and destruction in 2014, in addition to the siege. If you look at the statistics, for example, even before Cast Lead, 80 percent of Palestinian children in Gaza have witnessed some sort of violence against them, a friend or a family member. And now you’re getting to the point where probably close to 99 percent of children in Gaza are being exposed to a level of violence where they have seen family members be killed, murdered, burned alive. There’s nothing like the levels of traumatic exposure that any child in the world has ever been exposed to on a chronic and daily basis.”

Was kind of staring at this photo for about 10 minutes or so. Was thinking when I was in America and my years I attended the masjid and all the wonderful people I met, came to know, ate with, invited to weddings, and played volleyball with (Mid Eastern style) til 2 in the morning. Most had a sophistication about them and I wondered sometimes if the hee haw types that were so afraid of Muslims, were actually harboring some degree of jealousies.
I noticed in America that first generations immigrants from certain countries, had a different value system than the children they had that were born in America. The children born in America (not all of them) took on the characteristics of the average American kid of not wanting to study, lazy, playing video games, idolizing music and pop stars, etc. Hmm, is it the culture that the ‘jew’ has designed for America? It must be. I’m not saying a ‘jew’ is hiding under every bed or behind every tree along a sidewalk, but it must be because I saw many times a mother from another country arguing with their child because they were having a difference of opinion on what is acceptable and what is not.
So, as I looked at that photo, I thought these children ( and all Palestinians ) are right there, right under the ‘jew’ nose…and they are not effected by their trash and filth that is so cancerous to other countries that can be up to thousands of miles away. This bravery and integrity probably gets to the Israeli the most. They cannot crack into that…even the children’s. These disgusting, sadistic ‘jews’ do stand naked before the Palestinians.
That little girl is emotionally hurt…but they will never break her.
@imhotep,
These are very important and accurate observations you have made.
My girlfriend is Arab and has this dignity and connection with her culture
and respect for those traditional values where she came from.
What impresses me most about her is that this Judaic/American culture
was not strong enough to tare her from her roots.
I am impressed that you were able to see this so accurately from one
celluloid frame. Thank you.
For any others reading this that may not have imhotep’s insight, and
need a few more frames to understand as much, please go to
YouTube and watch “Jenin Jenin”.
You will see other Palestinians, including a girl of this child’s age, that
should amaze you with their strength and grace that the jews will never
be able to break.
