PALESTINIAN WOMAN STABS IDF FEMALE SOLDIER

YNET – A Palestinian woman stabbed a female soldier in the neck on Monday during a security check at the Rachel Crossing, which leads to Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem. The soldier, who serves in military police, was seriously wounded.

Security forces and Border Police who were at the scene arrested the attacker, 20-year-old Misoun Mussa from Bethlehem. She was not known to security forces and has never been arrested.

Mussa was found to have two other knives on her person. During questioning by the Shin Bet, she said she arrived at the crossing to kill a soldier. The initial assessment was that she acted alone.

Magen David Adam paramedics who arrived at the scene gave the soldier medical treatment and evacuated her to Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem.

On Saturday night, a Magen David Adom ambulance was fired upon near the Beit El settlement. No one was hurt. After the attack, the IDF searched the nearby Palestinian village of Beitin for the perpetrators.

A day earlier, an attack in the Jordan Valley was thwarted. A Palestinian terrorist opened fire at soldiers at a checkpoint and was shot dead by reserve army forces about 30 kilometers south of Beit She’an. No soldier was injured in the attack, and the area was declared a closed military zone.

Early last week, an 18-year-old Palestinian terrorist stabbed a Border Policeman at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. The policeman, who was severely wounded, managed to shoot the terrorist and wound him severely. Rescue forces called to the scene treated both of them and transported them to hospitals in the city. The policeman’s condition markedly improved the next day.
