ed note–one can just imagine a candidate for ANY office in America espousing the wisdom of the Qur’an (where indeed, much wisdom can be found) and the wall of SCREEEEEECHING that would erupt.

Espousing the ‘wisdom’ of the Torah however, the book that convicted Jesus Christ and had Him put to death, the book that advocates lying, theft, and mass murder of Gentiles, is perfectly acceptable.

Political columnist Matt Bai recently got an old-fashioned Jewish guilt trip for skipping synagogue, and not from his rabbi or his Jewish mother, but from an evangelical Christian politician angling for the White House.

Ohio Governor John Kasich, who this week officially joined the jam-packed race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, is an ardent Protestant. But when he sat down with Bai in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday, he went with a JDate-style icebreaker: “Do you go to synagogue?”

Bai, who spent years covering politics for the New York Times Magazine before moving to Yahoo News, admitted in a recent feature on Kasich that the question made him feel “oddly shamed.” And Kasich didn’t stop at asking about Bai’s shul attendance.

“Do you read the Torah?” the governor pressed. “Maybe you should. Do you realize how much wisdom there is for life?”

On paper, Kasich is a near-perfect Republican presidential candidate, Bai noted. The son of a mailman, he was elected to Congress when he was 30 and went on to become the chairman of the powerful House Budget Committee, where he helped balance budgets in the 1990s.

After a decade working for Lehman Brothers and hosting his own show on Fox News, Kasich was elected governor in 2010. Last year, he was reelected with 64 percent of the vote — having presided over an impressive economic turnaround.

Yet Kasich is not discussed as a top-tier candidate, and his supporters worry that unscripted “riffs” — part of an “impetuous” and “self-involved” public persona, according to Bai — aren’t helping. On the other hand, a certain bombastic billionaire is currently leading the Republican field.

Even if the whole leading-the-Free-World thing doesn’t work out, Kasich has indicated he’ll be just fine. Speaking in April about a potential presidential run, he said: “If they like it, great. If they don’t like it, I’ll play more golf.”

  1. Rothdchilds FOX ,Lehman Brothers, Kasich is a Jew stooge.
Sons of mailmen go far, when our Jewish masters push them.
Let me tell a personal story, involoving this creep…….back in the awful 90s, when the Jews,
of Left/Right, decided social programs had to be cut way back,
I was caregiver to my aging mother. Things got bad. Kasich sat up to the wee hours of the morning morning cutting ,single, peoples very modest food stamp allotment.
Guess what, that got me, and hurt my 74 year old mother, as we shared.
    Do you like that ?
Did it teach me the ,’looser,’ and elderly dead beat with an ulcerative leg a lesson ?
    Did we become better ‘Murikans?’
Does it make any ‘,good people,’feel powerful, moral, and superior, knowing two law sbiding people, on hard times, saved the ,,taxpayers, a nominal sum?
Guess what ? Budget chair Kasich pushed through all the Israeli Aide they wanted !
There was no ‘budget cuts ,’ for them, and no lying excuse American simpletons believe,’we are going broke,’for them.
Kasich is a creep. A lucky limited looser, who understands who butters his bread…Jews.
Another modern prolateriate Republican ,with no class, but plenty of Joooooo, behind him.

  2. I found this funny at the linguistic level. Bai, as a Jew is unfamiliar with Christian denominations and their respective images. Only a Jew could use the phrase “ardent Protestant.” Protestants are not that hot, really.
Kasich on he other hand is a panting wannabe Jew but, as an awkward Shabbath Goy, hasn’t got the lingo down pat yet. Jews do not talk about going to the “synagogue.” They only refer to it as “Temple.”
Still and all, Kasich should pursue his dream identity change: he should find a mohel willing to do adults.
