“The South African Zionist Federation and the South African Jewish Board of Deputies in a joint statement said it was “deeply disturbing that a member of the South African government should condemn and threaten to punish those who have simply exercised their democratic right to freedom of thought and association. What is so wrong – either legally or morally – about a group of young South Africans travelling to another country in order to broaden their knowledge about the situation there? Is Mr. Bapela afraid that by being exposed to information and opinions that differ from his own, they might end up coming to the ‘wrong’ conclusions?””
Great argument concerning freedom of thought and association. But when the same sort of argument is used in justification for investigating the truthfulness of “the Holocaust”, well that’s another story entirely isn’t it? “Is Mr. Bapela afraid that by being exposed to information and opinions that differ from his own, they might end up coming to the ‘wrong’ conclusions?” Precisely the argument “Holocaust” investigators, questioners, and deniers use; why isn’t it equally valid for them, I wonder!
As far as I know, there is no law in SA criminalising “Holocaust Denial”. You are free to deny and investigate as much as you like.
Would Israel allow a group of SA politicians to freely enter and visit Gaza?
No, I didn’t think so.
What harm can there be in preaching liberalism? On page 55 of the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion (2010 Martino Publishing reprint of the London: Eyre & Spottiswoode 1920 English translation of the Russian 1905 original): “We preach liberalism to the Gentiles, but on the other hand we keep our own nation in entire subjection.” The reason for this strategy is indicated on page 33: “When we injected the poison of liberalism into the organism of the state its political complexion changed; the states became infected with a mortal illness, that is, decomposition of the blood. There remains only to await the end of their agonies.” Well, not quite; they encourage a wide range of ideas, and look for ways to encourage opposite ideas, with a view to engendering division and destructive conflict from within. Pretty cunning, eh? Hypocritical too; all in a good cause of course. On page 6: “Even of old we were the first to cry out to the people, “Liberty, equality, and fraternity.” ” That is an implicit admission of involvement in organizing the French Revolution. On page 14: “We will create a universal economical crisis, by all possible underhand means and with the help of gold, which is all in our hands. Simultaneously we will throw on to the streets huge crowds of workmen throughout Europe. These masses will then gladly throw themselves upon and shed the blood of those of whom, in their ignorance, they have been jealous from childhood, and whose belongings they will then be able to plunder.” This seems to be looking back to the French, and forward to the Bolshevik revolutions. On page 51: “In order to call to heel all Gentile societies, in which we have so deeply implanted dissensions and the tenets of the protestant religion, merciless measures will have to be introduced.” That hints at complicity in bringing about The Reformation.
Freedom or liberty can be a blessing if used wisely and benevolently; and can be a curse if used foolishly or malevolently. Are we Gentiles guilty of foolishly abusing our liberties? Have our Jewish co-citizens been guilty of taking advantage of our foolishness?
Very forward thinking to be concerned about what ties these young folks would have in the future as a result of these propaganda visits. That is where prospective sayanim and agents are chosen from… people who put themselves under scrutiny of those looking for pawns and tools. We in the West know this all too well. Everyone I have met who has gone on those jaunts comes back insisting Israel has the right to defend herself. End of argument.
Maybe they are also concerned… people stop coming on these jaunts and Israeli tourism continues to plunge….
We can dream can’t we?
@ PJ London – No doubt you are correct that there is no law in South Africa criminalizing “Holocaust” denial. However, I feel quite certain that the South African Zionist Federation and the South African Jewish Board of Deputies think that there SHOULD be such a law; and arguments about freedom of thought and association would not be accepted as valid by them when applied to the question of “Holocaust” skepticism, denial, or just plain questioning. Jews and their “Goyim” collaborators think liberty of thought, speech, and association are wonderful – until such liberty runs afoul of their sacred myths.
