The mitzvot are intrinsic to Israel. The Torah and Land of Israel are inseparable – the one can only flourish with the other.

ed note–jes’ a lil’ reminder to those who have allowed their thinking to be seduced, either by the ‘good rabbis’ at Neturei Karta or by those ‘good Jews’ who support Israel but oppose the genocide being perpetrated against the Palestinians and whose siren song basically consists of the nonsense that ‘judaism and zionism’ are distinct and different, that they are lying through their teeth. The Torah, which is as much the foundation of Judaism as Jesus is to Christianity, is very clear on this subject–

‘On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abraham, saying “To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river Euphrates”…–Genesis, 15:18

‘And God spoke unto us saying, ‘Go to the hill-country and all the places nigh thereunto… in the Arabah, the hill-country and in the Lowland… in the South and by the sea-shore, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates…Go in therefore and possess the land which the Lord swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, unto them and to their seed after them…’ Deuteronomy 1:6–8

‘Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours, from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river Euphrates, even unto the hinder sea shall be your border…’ Deuteronomy 11:24

‘…From the wilderness, and this Lebanon, even unto the great river, the Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border…’Joshua 1:4

Furthermore, keep something else in mind–the ‘land of Israel’ that is the focus of this essay, is not some small sliver of land along the eastern shores of the Mediterranean, but rather a sprawling land mass several times the size of Texas, incorporating the countries of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq and parts of Saudi Arabia.

Is the entire ‘war on terror’ and the destruction of the Arab Middle East beginning to make more sense now? It is the extension of the same house demolition process that Israel engages in on a daily basis in the West Bank, only on a larger scale and being done by Gentiles from the West, not only in the interests of creating ‘The Jewish state’, but as well, as a means of finishing what the Jews attempted to do on Crucifixion Friday, 33 A.D.–the destruction of a school of thought that threatened the very existence of their long-term agenda.

Dr. Joseph Frager, Israel National News

Zionism is declared alive and well in the very first words of the Torah in Parshat Bereishit. “In the beginning Elokim created the heavens and the earth”.

Rashi immediately jumps on the Posuk and brings down R. Yitzchok who says,” the Torah should have begun with “this month shall be your first month”, it being the first Mitzvah Bnei Yisrael were commanded”. The fact that the Torah began with the words, “In the beginning Elokim created” is to declare the power of G-d’s works to his People in order to give to them the inheritance of the Nations. Thus should the nations of of the world say to Israel, “You are robbers, for you have taken by force the land of the seven nations”, Israel can answer “all the earth belongs to G-d”.

He created it and gave it to us as an inheritance. Rashi knew fully well that 1000 years after he had lived that the Land of Israel would once again come back to the Jewish People. He anticipated this happening 1,000 years before it did. Clearly prophetic. He chose the very first words of the Torah to declare the land of Israel as the eternal inheritance of the Jewish People. Yes, the word “Bereishit” begs to be expounded upon. Rashi says that the world was created for the sake of Torah which is called “Reishit of his Way”.

The fact that Rashi makes these two points at the very beginning of the Torah highlights the importance of the Land of Israel as the Jewish People’s eternal Homeland and the Torah its eternal Treasure. The remaining portion of the Five Books of Moses can now move forward. Rashi felt it essential to point out the two most critical issues right off the bat-Israel and Torah.

Two inseparable aspects of the Jewish People. The Maharal in his Gur Aryeh asks the question of why Rashi brings down R. Yitzchok connecting Mitzvot to the Land of Israel. What is the connection of Mitzvot to the Land? The Maharal answers that most Mitzvot in the Torah are dependent upon the Land of Israel. Therefore Rashi felt obligated to connect Torah and the Land of Israel at the outset.

A famous Sifrei is brought down by the Ramban on Bereishit 26:5 (“Because Abraham obeyed my voice, and observed My Safeguards, My Commandments, My decrees and My Teachings”) and quoted again by the Ramban in Leviticus 18:25 and Deuteronomy 11:18 which intimates that the Mitzvot are intrinsic to the Land of Israel. Although most would say that the performance of all Mitzvot have much more value performed in the Land of Israel compared to the Exile, this Sifrei seems to imply that the the only real place where Mitzvot can be performed properly is in Israel.

This Sifrei makes it more understandable why Rashi felt compelled to connect the Mitzvot/Torah with the Land of Israel in the very first Posuk of the Torah. They are intertwined and inseparable. May the Torah and Mitzvot flourish in the Land of Israel and the World over today like never before in our History. Shabbat Shalom

  1. When you are digging deep in history as I’m doing for a while you must conclude that the “Promised Land” wasn’t stolen in 1948 for the first time. If there is any chance the pentateuch is real history , what I really doubt seen the floud of lies and inconsistent facts performed there. The Lord already in that period gave away somebody elses country. He wasn’t too sure of himself and send spies around to make sure the Parasites could enter that piece of land. I’m afraid that everything is connected with lies and more lies, until this very day. Frauding, stealing murdering and lieing are their thing, as much as their “GOD’ ‘s who was a guiding example of all these virtues.

  3. There is no such thing as a ‘God’ we now know that religion is a total fabrication invented by evil men to control the masses. there has never been an ‘israel’ or israeli’s even in the days when the early bible stories were being invented the jews were a class of european criminals who were on the run from justice and hiding in the middle east, mainly Palestine. yep, they have always been murderers, theives and liars. the sooner they are dealt with the better.

  4. Once again, having read the editorial, all I did was glimpse through the thoroughly offensive text.
Once again, my admiration goes off to Mark for his eternal patience in describing this BS again and again and again …. My patience runs out after a single repetition…. at this point because it all seems so obvious….
At the end of my glimpse, my usual conclusion came forth:
“They won’t stop until someone does it for them.”

  5. The truth of the matter for some is hard to grasp…..especially Christians as the old Testament is the word of God as much as the New Testament.
The trend I often see at this site is to denegrate the Old Testament.
That will work only to an atheist or Agnostic.
The real Pro-Palestinian argument I will leave to a further post here.
The real “Gentile” argument I will leave to a further post here.
The opening post hasn’t addressed the Torah as
    being the word of God.
ed note–at one time, people had a problem with the notion that the earth was not flat.
At one time, people believed that the future could be predicted by reading the entrails of slaughtered animals.
At one time, mass panic resulting in multiple suicides took place because people believed that the radio program they were hearing, a reading of HG Well’s ‘War of the Worlds’–was real rather than understanding that it was a work of fiction.
The OT and its role in the bloodshed we see taking place is no small matter. The Jews themselves quote it extensively in justifying what they do, therefore, it is fair game. To do otherwise is to try and disassociate cigarettes from lung cancer and to look for other causes of the problem.
And as far as the Torah being the ‘word of God’, if truly it were, would there be so much devilry associated with it? I doubt it.

  6. this would be great if the Lord did not mean to the first born son.. which was Ishmael… the Progeny of Abraham and Hagar his Egyptian concubine…soooooooooooo if you want to quote the bible.. then you must agree that the first born son inherited the lands of Caannan when he was banished by Abraham … that was then Caanan and is now Palestine The Palestinian people are the rightful heirs to the lands..they were there almost 1000 years berfore the progeny of Issaac… Read the Bible correctly .. the twelve tribes of Israel scattered.. they have nothing to do with Caanan Palestine and the Torah has nothing to do with those lands either… it is all rubbish construed by those who wish to deceive and steal and murder with justification… as if that is a justifications..
I am unsubscribing to this BS….
