The Torah is taken out during prayer services on Shabbat, Mondays and Thursdays.
ed note–again, as much as it may appear on the superficial level to be an item of minor consequence, the fact is that it’s not. Of the many pieces of disinformation swirling around out there on a daily basis at any given moment that prevents an accurate understanding of the political picture that exists today, one of the more insidious and yet easy to disprove is the assertion put forward by those who–usually for their own personal reasons rooted in some sense of religious sentimentality–claim that modern day Judaism and its adherents divorced themselves from the Torah 1400 years ago with the invention of the Talmud, which simply is not true. The 2 works of religious instruction are meant to function cooperatively with each other in the same manner as the left and right legs of a person propel him/her forward or the left/right wings of a bird facilitate flying. They do not work against each other at all, and the only thing necessary for an intellectually honest person to do is to sit down and RATIONALLY consider what each is/does–without all the clouding agents of religious emotionalism–and the picture becomes clear.
Understand the Torah and what it commands, and the world will thus understand the peculiar and dangerous energy that drives Jewish behavior at the geo-political level.
