‘By the end of the year? We’re talking about different scenarios,’ says Trump

ed note–just another friendly and timely reminder to all those ‘identity politics’ types who live their lives on a hair’s trigger when it comes to any bad news that seems to validate their pre-set-in-stone convictions about whatever that perhaps they should just wait a bit before throwing their cards down on the table.

U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the U.S. Embassy in Israel won’t move to Jerusalem within the next year, contradicting a statement made earlier in the day by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump said in an interview to Reuters that the embassy move would take longer than that. “By the end of the year? We’re talking about different scenarios,” Trump said, according to the news agency’s transcript.

Benjamin Netanyahu hailed a “new era” in ties with India January 15 as he signed a series of deals during the first visit by an Israeli Prime Minister in 15 years. Netanyahu made the comment after talks with Narendra Modi, who made history in July when he became the first Indian leader ever to visit Israel.

Trump then explained that “I mean, obviously that would be on a temporary basis” – perhaps hinting that while the embassy won’t move in its entirety, some temporary arrangements could be made to allow more of the embassy’s work to take place in Jerusalem.

He then added, however – “we’re not really looking at that, no.”

Netanyahu said earlier Wednesday the United States embassy is going to move to Jerusalem within the year. This, he said, was based on what he described as a “solid assessment.”

Netanyahu, currently on an official visit to India, made his comments to reporters on a flight from Delhi to Gujarat, the home state of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Netanyahu did not say what he based the assessment on, but explained that the embassy plan is one of a series of unprecedented policy moves, including Trump’s proposal to cancel the agreement on Iran’s nuclear program, and the U.S. decision to delay a $65-million payment to UNRWA, the United Nations body that assists Palestinian refugees.

“There are three things happening in the U.S. that never happened before,” Netanyahu said. “One is moving the U.S.embassy. My solid assessment is that it will go much faster than you think: within a year from now. Secondly, there is a dramatic change vis-a-vis Iran. The president has made time [to consider a] necessary change in relation to the nuclear program. You know that this will happen. Canceling the agreement is what he said he plans to do.

“The third thing is to challenge UNRWA for the first time. For 70 years the organization perpetuates the Palestinian narrative and the abolition of Zionism, and this is the first time they [the Americans] challenge this. It’s good that they are doing something that is challenging this organization.”

The U.S. will withhold $65 million from a payment it was scheduled to transfer this month to the UNRWA, the agency responsible for assisting Palestinian refugees and their descendents in the Middle East, an official announced Tuesday. The U.S. will provide $60 million in aid, amounting to roughly half the planned sum of $125 million. This payment is the first in a number of sums the U.S. is expected to give United Nations Relief and Works Agency in 2018.

The prime minister’s comments Wednesday about the embassy follow Trump’s historic announcement in December that the United States was recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital

That announcement ended decades of an American policy of neutrality regarding the city, sparking outrage among Palestinians who claim the eastern section of it as their future capital.

The president’s declaration was condemned by leaders in the Middle East and Europe, who said they feared it would torpedo the future of the already-fragile peace process, and has led to sporadic but ongoing clashes between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli security forces.

One of Trump’s campaign promises was to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It’s considered a volatile move that could spark serious violence which is why successive U.S. presidents have chosen to sign a waiver twice a year that officially delays such a move. Trump too signed such a waiver just after he made his announcement.

  1. Interesting, I wanted to copy and paste the very last sentence, being the sting in the tail,”Trump too signed such a waiver just after he made his announcement.”, and it wouldn’t paste, so I have to type it in.
What this means is that Netanyahu had overlooked that, otherwise he wouldn’t have been gushing on like he has.

  2. mazur, netanyahu didn’t overlook anything, he knows full well who he is dealing with and hates trump every bit as much as any iscariotic spawn out there but it befell him to pretend to like trump as much as trump pretends to like the jews, this is all part of the cage combat technique, sort of like pivoting on the balls of the leading foot while unwinding that big hook.
besides, netanyahu is politically weak and cornered domestically, trump is/was the straw that the drowning man clutches and trump knows this, got him over the barrel.
it pays to watch the photo ops, most of the time netanyahu has this smug leer on his putrid face when in company of a rape victim like merkel, may, maricon, oops, macron, palestinian authority (contradiction in terms) and lesser shabbos.
But this is quickly replaced with bewildered shit-eating simper when posing with trump or putin.

  3. I live in a western US state, and strange things have been happening here recently with sites that feature “anti-Semitic” content. Yesterday, I checked in at TUT several times, and only two articles for 01/17/18 were visible. Today, I count 9 articles with a post date of 01/17/18.
The day before (01-16-18) my attempts to reach TUT, and several other “anti-Semitic” sites, were generating “502 – Bad Gateway” errors for several hours. One site, where Lobro commented often, has been generating that “502 – Bad Gateway” error for more than 48 hours now, at least in my part of the world.
It’s not surprising to see news that contradicts the “Trump is Israel’s B****” narrative isn’t getting any coverage at sites where many readers appear to suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome. It is surprising to see popular sites become unavailable for more than a few hours at a time.
James O’Keefe recently released videos of Twitter employees discussing how they censor “a way of talking” (politically incorrect speech). Google, Facebook and Twitter have teamed up with ADL and SPLC to regulate what they consider “hate speech.” An article in a popular globalist rag states “the right way to deal with social media’s neo-Nazis is not by taking away their platforms, but by taking away their audiences.” Those “Bad Gateway” errors amount to lost readers, some of whom may or will never return. Some websites may be getting shadow banned – with the site appearing normal to site admin, but many (or most) readers getting a “502 – Bad Gateway” error. Twitter has used shadow banning for some time. It may be spreading as a way of “taking away the audiences” of sites not approved by the ADL / SPLC.

  4. Carn, DM seems to be down for the count, result of catastrophic vandalism, Lasha has one probable suspect but who knows … it is like torching the library of Alexandria, albeit on a smaller scale, not just for the articles but the rich commentary, also her poems … Fahreheit 451 sure comes to mind.
Luckily, the game dynamics are by no means one-sided, the Real Christians are stepping up to plate for the truth: It’s Time to Drop the Jew Taboo
It’s making serious discussion of Russian geopolitics and history next to impossible.

stay well carn, we’ll go down swingin’.

  5. @ Lobro
it seems that DM is down for good ,not because of it’s views but because its a troll site.
they have intimated certain posters and published the personal info of Karen and God knows who else.
they have violated the spirit of the laws ,privacy and trust

  6. Very sorry to hear about the vandalism at DM, but if that site is now down for the count there is a lesson there. Every site that publishes politically incorrect material should be doing weekly or daily backups, and not to “the cloud” but to a dedicated off-site device. This is no longer difficult or expensive, but not free. If that means sending a few pieces of eight to certain websites regularly to keep them alive, I’ll do what I can. Damn right we’ll go down swingin’!
The article from Russia Insider was timely and excellent, and produced a lot of good and / or informative comments. I think more people are waking up. PCR wrote a column on Identity Politics recently, so I sent him this article, in which the author laments the fact that a large part of the Millennial generation doesn’t seem to be buying what “progressives” are selling. Not all of the news is bad.

  7. then those heroic and invaluable sites that folded due to threat of violence, retaliation etc like Daryl Bradford SMith’s FRENCH CONNECTION. His archival books on PDF alone were worth pure gold. Now gone

  8. kolo, i am curious as to what specifically triggered you against the russia-insider article on the need to drop the joo-taboo.
i guess i missed something of importance, did they malign islam or something …
for example, this resonates powerfully with my view, a highly unpopular one in the west, it seems:

This view argues that the terror visited on Russia during the civil war and its aftermath,
CONTINUING WELL INTO THE STALIN YEARS, FOR HE COULD NOT REALLY CONTROL IT EITHER,
    was a Jewish one.

i took loads of flak due to this stand which if anything, is strengthened by day, the only deep mystery and fact that contradicts it is why did stalin and Hitler, who by rights should have been natural allies, ended up in an internecine war of nearly apocalyptic proportions … of course, i deeply suspect JEW to have brokered it, the khazars migrating to escape stalin’s wrath, coordinating with new york masterminds in order to foment further suspicion, ignorance and vindictive hatred – viz, FALSE FLAG that fooled hitler or was misinterpreted (perhaps on purpose by crypto moles in his staff).
but the bottom line, kolo, is that i really like and welcome the ri article, would like to see many more in that vein – time to blow the stigma off free discussion of the known universe’s biggest plague.
