Yes it was a “triumph ” for the protesters – get out -not wanted ,it is well seeing that it is being self-publicised because it was ignored by the majority of Scots . The 800 jews represent about a sixth of the total jewish population in Scotland so dont think that their so called “triumph ” had the backing of the majority of Scots who are staunchly for Palestine.

What a big lie to claim that they want to spread a message that co-existence is the best method for achieving peace and they are building a wall against coexistence and do every thing to prevent peace. @ Ron: Scotland has been under spiritual and cultural occupation for centuries now. The Scottish Celticness has been all but erased with the Reformation, Free masonry and judaic Presbyterianism, which have supplanted and oppressed the indigenous Celtic culture and faith.
Irish influence, mainly in Western Scotland has managed to somehow revive the Celticness in Scotland but not enough to ‘set Scotland free’.
That’s what I am talking about.

You dont know the history of this -2014 – England said – if you vote for Freedom you will be ejected from the EU that was part of Project Fear to con the Scots into voting No -and it worked . I wonder why and how there came to be any Jews at all in Scotland. Does not seem a place they would flourish or prosper in because the Scots will never take the crap Jews dish out every where else they live.
Your right ladybat2 Scottish ancient history doesnt include jews . They came over in the 30,s from Germany as Hitler kicked them out (at a price ) also a bit earlier when Russia had its revolution even though many in the revolution were Jewish as were a lot of the leaders but as the rich Jews owned factories in Russia the Bolsheviks took over the factories for themselves so it was poor Jews kicking out rich Jews. As a Scot who has traveled round Scotland I cannot find statues/ memorials /ancient graves etc relating to Jews nor any synagogues . Scotland when ruled by the Highland clans was staunchly Catholic , the French played a part in Scotland but even there I dont know any Jews. Scotland also traded with Germany. Scotland also has Viking heritage as they invaded both eastern Scotland North of Edinburgh and all the Western Islands marrying Scots females this is one reason , along with the Celtic one , which themselves have some Viking in them that Scotland has the most red haired and blond people . MY wife is reddish blond and has Scandinavian and Irish/Scottish heritage as a result she suffers from a rare form of illness only associated with the Scandinavian area. I could go on about Scottish history but will stop there. Scotland isnt a natural homeland for jews and they know it.
I love reading all you have to share about Scottish history Duncan! I have Scottish blood myself. My mother was Italian and my father half Scot and half Swedish. Sometimes I swear its my Scot blood that calls out to me most because Celtic music moves me more than any other music on earth, (especially the bag pipes) and when I see photos of Scotland its as if I’ve been there even though I never have physically been to Scotland and it seems as if its calling out to me. Though I have more Italian blood in me than Scottish, its still the Scot that has imprinted in and on me the most.
My husband is Palestinian. The two peoples I love most in the world are the Palestinian people and the Scottish people. Thank you all for your solidarity with the Palestinian people and please send a big hug for me to every Scot you know that stood up for Palestine.
Thank you for that ladybat2 , if you feel a lifting of the Spirit when hearing the bagpipes then you definably have Scottish blood in you . You may not know but very many Italians came to live in the west coast of Scotland and set up ice cream parlors , Glasgow is full of Italian restaurants but is flooded with Italian ice cram shops stretch to Clydebank and down to “Little Italy ” as the Vale of Leven was called (near Loch Lomond ) where a large number of Italian immigrants arrived both before WW2 and after . Glasgow telephone directory is full of Italian names , even though I have moved to an East coast village there is now a Nardini,s ice cream parlor in ST.Andrews (the home of golf ) they originally had a shop on the west coast town of Largs but have expanded I have never seen any trouble from Italians who play a big part also in Glasgow theatre and the Arts+ Crafts there. One Glasgow photographic book of Old Glasgow shows many Italian shops in art Deco style. I regularly get emails from several Palestinian organizations both here and in America, I feel very strongly about it , but I have been attacked for my support by -you know who – on the web.

Hey, I was wondering, have you ever had the chance to visit any ancient Scottish castles? Any chance they were haunted? I would love to visit an ancient Scottish castle that is rumored to be haunted. I can’t get enough of old Scottish tales of ghosts,banchees and faeires.
You must have some of the “Second Sight ” as they say in Scotland , how did you know I visited a haunted castle ? . The one in particular was Edzell Castle and funnily enough only a few days ago I found the pictures I took of it in the 70,s and have it in front of my PC. MY wife and I visited it several times as we were drawn to it , it is in Angus 15 miles west of Montrose. As I looked on the ground floor my wife climbed the stairs to the second floor , on the floor was an ancient large steel spike , that was used for hanging things like large portions of meat it was heavily corroded and pitted. I picked it up and thought of stealing it but I have an enormous conscious and couldn’t live with the fact of taking it so I threw it back down . I then went upstairs to my wife , she came over to me and handed the same spike to me I was shaken ! . She said a man dressed in unusual clothes came over to her and said ( in French ) pour vous -for you he then said favor and my wife realised he wanted her scarf , he then disappeared . It turned out the castle was owned by a French knight (remember me telling you the French were involved in Scotland (the Auld Alliance ) and that he wanted her scarf to wear when in battle or jousting . Well ladybat2 as the original owner was saying it was all right to take the spike who am I to refuse ? The cottage we own is haunted to unusual things happen objects move by themselves and my wife has seen several ghosts and both if us have seen our cat which lived with us for 20 years before it died , it was well loved , it has spoken to me in dreams . Scotland has a large number of ghosts due to the violence of centuries of battle against the English and the way people were killed and witches burnt, the Highland Clearances where the poor crofters were evicted in winter to make way for sheep and war after war . We are not used to long lasting peace.
