RT – One out of every eight workers are missing out on meals in order to make ends meet, one of the UK’s largest trade unions has said.  According to a survey of more than 3,200 workers in the Trades Union Congress (TUC), almost half were concerned they would not be able to cover basaic necessities, such as food, bills and transport.  The poll also found that one in six people had left their heating off during a cold snap to save on energy bills, while a similar number had pawned possessions because they were short of funds.   1. The British minimum wage increased to a ludicrous £7.50 an hour in April this year. That barely pays rent on a one bedroomed flat in many places. Something is very wrong. In real terms, the wages have not risen at the same rate along as the vastly increasing prices of housing over the last few decades, so that you would need wages to be literally several times higher today to match their house-buying power some 30 or 40 years ago. The whole thing is a massive racket, it is simply disgusting.
