Israel’s number one detective, Assistant Commissioner Ephraim Bracha, who was suspect in multiple bribery scandals, shot himself in his car near his home in Modiin early Sunday morning.
Paramedics arrived on the scene where they declare his death.
Bracha was found Sunday morning after having shot himself in his car in Modi’in, where he resided.
The top police detective was previously alleged of involvement in the recent bribery case against Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto.
In May, the Rabbi was sentenced to a year in prison on a bribery conviction, ending a years-long saga.
According to his indictment, Pinto was charged with trying to bribe Bracha with $200,000 to get information from him about a criminal investigation into the Hazon Yeshaya foundation Pinto was running.
Bracha reported Pinto’s actions to his superiors, then continued to gather evidence on the rabbi, the indictment said.
Police on Sunday expressed condolences to Bracha’s family in light of his death.
He leaves behind his wife and four children.

Odd that he would commit suicide when he reported, cooperated and continued to collect evidence against the Rabbi.
Suicide? Convenient closure for the higher-ups
Hahaha yeah he committed suicide. Where was his Mossad handler at the time?
Suicide is running rampant or is it cover up assassinations?………………the latter is more believable…
Sounds more like Murdered?
