In June 2017, Sergey Surovikin, the commander of Russia’s forces in Syria told media: “According to available reliable information, in early June ISIL terrorists entered into collusion with the command of the Kurdish armed units, which are part of the Democratic Forces Union, left the populated localities of Tadia and al-Hamam located 19 kilometers southwest of Raqqa offering no resistance and headed toward Palmyra.” CONTINUE READING

  1. Spokesperson for the Russian Defense Ministry, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, said government forces have faced fierce ISIS counter-attacks from an area controlled by the US Special Operations Forces and the SDF.
“According to Syrian commanders’ reports from the front line, the Syrian Army encounters the most severe counterattacks and fire from the northern direction. That is, where SDF forces and US special operations units are located, who are allegedly administering medical aid to these militants instead of liberating Raqqa. You don’t have to possess profound military knowledge to see consistency in all these ‘coincidences’,” Konashenkov said.
Konashenkov added that water discharges from the Euphrates dams controlled by the US-backed forces hamper the government advance north of Deir Ezzor.
That right Kurds dig yourselves a deep grave, you are making plenty of enemies.

  2. I have known some high ranking Kurds in the past. They kept their politics separate and now I can only guess what they were doing because I knew literally nothing about anything back in the days. I was not even Jew wise. I got to know their inner culture well, in fact was once offered a wonderful exchange for one of my daughters. (A pair of bred Fresian mares, a flock of goats, several bars of gold….). The gentleman who had made the offer was medicated to the nines from injuries received at the hands of Hussein’s men and apologized the next day. These were educated people. Lawyers, doctors, an ambassador or two all who had moved to Australia. The onset of the Iran War was the end of communications for obvious reasons and I have not heard from any for over a decade now. This was pre 9/11.
I wonder what they would say about this. This truly saddens me that Israel has gotten to them. Nothing good can come of this. Nothing good. But I will also say, the society I knew was a Master/slave society to a great extent. In the truest sense of the word, something that took me awhile to understand and accept as part of their ways.
Don’t think I have ever shared that part of my past. Leave it at that. I can only pray for those I remember. I am surprised that these folks, some of whom I considered to be among the wisest I ever met, who influenced my thinking so deeply to this very day, wake up before it is too late. But those older wiser heads, the ancient families, they have lost sway. I remember one giving me his entire name (A million “bins” in it, a mile long) saying, “Yes I was a Pasha but that means nothing these days.”
