The Irish Could Be a Minority Ethnic Group by 2050
So says a professor who actually approves of the trend as a good thing… He is not alone. A pro-immigration rally was organized by activists of United Against Racism — they fight against “racism, fascism (they organize trips to the Auschwitz museum), hate speech, and bigotry against diverse sexual orientation, and they militate for a larger influx of migrants and refugees.
The demonstration organised by United Against Racism took place at the Spire on O’Connell Street as they marched down to the Central Bank. Organisers estimate 2,000 people turned up to the rally.
Prof Ferdinand von Prondzynski, president of Dublin City University (DCU), said that Ireland’s native population could be in a minority by the middle of this century, but “large-scale immigration is still essential if we are to remain prosperous.”
Predictions are that by 2050, Ireland’s population will consist of a multicultural and multiethnic mix in which the indigenous Irish will form a minority.
He says this is based on some demographic projections which also suggest that people of Chinese origin may form the largest of the new ethnic groups.
“Whether this turns out to be an accurate prediction or not, we have to prepare for a very different kind of society,” he says.
He also argues that any attempt to stop migration will lead to a significant decline in the Irish economy, and a return to Ireland’s peripheral status in Europe.
This is because a major population expansion is needed for the next wave of economic growth.
Universities have a particular obligation to prepare the country for the increasingly multicultural nature of Irish society, he believes.
Inter-cultural studies and research should be prioritised, while care needs to be taken to ensure the “new Irish” gain equal access to higher education.
Universities should also be “active contributors” to anti-racism policies, and should offer support to industry and to Government agencies in this regard.
“Ireland as a multicultural society will be able to make a particularly valuable contribution to the new Europe, and will be able to continue to lead as a country in which high-value innovation takes place and strong community values are espoused.”
He deplores government measures like increased restrictions on citizenship which are in his view frequently counterproductive.
“People are nervous about immigration. But immigration is almost always a good thing. People think immigrants come here and take jobs, but the opposite is true. They will come and create jobs.”
Ferdinand von Prondzynski is certainly not an Irish name. The von is German and Prondzynski is Polish. I wonder what his background is? The whole name could be adopted and he might not be any of the above mentioned.
I’m sure New Ireland in particular, and New Europe in general will enjoy great prosperity as valued provinces of Grand United Israel (hitherto known as planet Earth) when it is finally realized as promised so long ago by the greatest and most jealous God of all. Sorry, I meant the one and only true God.
That thesis by that grandly named fellow simply can’t be true. In fact it’s a lie.
For example, Israel isn’t taking a single immigrant from the flood now pouring into Europe, because it both can’t afford it – its says, and doesn’t want to lose its Jewishness, as there’s too few Jews there – other countries are to lose their identity, though.
Why wouldn’t it be good for Israel’s economy, if it’s good for Ireland’s economy ?
In fact Israel has a program of repatriating to country of origin 45,000 African blacks, or to a third country that will take them.
Apparently Sweden has been targeted for this influx for years, and this country of origin blurb is probably a lie, as it likely was never intended that they be deported to country of origin.
It obvious that the rules of economics as enunciated for Ireland by Mr Knowitall, don’t apply to Israel, meaning that they are total lies.
How many immigrants have created jobs? To say they don’t take jobs, but create them is complete and utter nonsense
