ed note–before we launch into this, we’ll state up front that in general, we appreciate what Gideon Levy has to say on various matters. Perhaps this ‘appreciation’ is based upon our own naivete and of succumbing to that Gentile-ish tendency of being fair to people and of judging them on their own merits/demerits rather than lumping them in with their particular ‘tribe’, or perhaps it’s a simple case of surrendering to the same baseless hope that comes with believing that good luck comes with finding a 4-leaf clover.

Whatever the case may be, in a world where running into a Jew who isn’t the typical frothing-at-the-mouth Torah Terrorist–‘Torah-ist’, if you will–and who has managed against all odds to hold onto whatever shred of humanity that may have been present within him at his conception, at the very least it is a nice ‘vacation’ of sorts–mentally speaking–when someone from the violent tribe of Judah comes forth and at least pretenses himself as a ‘birth defect’ of sorts in showing the kind of compassion that simply DOES NOT EXIST amongst his co-religionists.

HAVING SAID THAT HOWEVER, just because Levy and others like him SEEM to be saying the kinds of things that are sugar to our ears and candy for our eyes does not mean that we are not being snookered by the literary Snickers bars they are offering to us for our consumption, and this is one of those.

Within the very title of the piece itself, the critical thinker will spot in a NY second what’s wrong with it–

‘11,500 Children Have Been Killed in Gaza, and Horror of This Scale Has No Explanation…’

And to which we at this humble little informational endeavor respond simply–

Au contraire, Monsieur Levy.’

It ABSOLUTELY has an ‘explanation’, and one that has been sitting there as an open secret now for over 3,000 years for those who just bothered to consider it, including Monsieur Levy himself who knows this material better than anyone, given that as a Judah-ite, he grew up hearing it over, and over and over again, to wit–

‘When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are to possess and drives out the many nations larger and stronger than you, and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy. Do not save alive anything that breathes…Do not intermarry with them…Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons…Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and burn their idols in the fire, for you are a people holy to the Lord your God who has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession…’ –Book of Deuteronomy

Now, just for the record, this is not some eensy, weensy, teensy ‘burp’ on the part of some Hebraic commentator of no consequence, but rather the very words and commandments from the ‘great lawgiver’ himself, the big kahuna, Moses.

And it isn’t the only time he is credited with commanding such things. The first 5 books making up the Torah (or the ‘Old Testament’ as it is known to those deluded Christians who have engaged in the beastiality of pairing the teachings of Jesus with the teachings of Moses) is as littered and pockmarked with similar Genocidal commandments as much as Gaza has been left a place of complete ruination and desolation.

Now, for the sake of clarity, let’s just review that thingy above–

‘…You must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy…Do not save alive anything that breathes…’

SO, according to Monsieur Levy, the ‘11,500 Children’ that have been killed in Gaza is a ‘Horror’ that ‘Has No Explanation…’

Again, not wanting to be overly-redundant, but nevertheless, ‘au contraire…’

It ABSOLUTELY has an ‘explanation’, and one which–as we already stated–Monsieur Levy understands all too well, given his background, but for reasons not known at this moment, won’t discuss, at least out in the open.

Exactly ‘why’ he won’t is at this point an unknown variable, but the notion that he ‘doesn’t know’ is simply so low in terms of any numerical statistical percentile that it can’t even be measured.

Furthermore, the entire world knows the explanation–or at last SHOULD–as it was clearly and unequivocally explained by none other than Netanyahu himself when he cited 1 Samuel and the Judaic religious commandment to ‘utterly exterminate Amalek’, down to the ‘suckling child’, exactly as the feral and diabolically-possessed Judah-ites are doing AT THIS VERY MOMENT.

So, the point we are making here is as follows, ladies and Gentile-men…

Even when we find a ‘good’ Jew such as Monsieur Levy who is not the typical snarling, bloodthirsty mass murderer of Gentiles (or an apologist for them), we must read CAREFULLY what they write and listen CRITICALLY to what they say, because sometimes, the devil is not there screaming in your face, but rather hiding within those details that oftentimes escape the notice of the more naive and good-hearted amongst us.

Gideon Levy

Two hundred and sixty names of babies whose age was 0; names of babies who didn’t get to celebrate their first birthday, nor will they ever celebrate anything else. Here are some of their names: Abdul Jawad Hussu, Abdul Khaleq Baba, Abdul Rahim Awad, Abdul Rauf al-Fara, Murad Abu Saifan, Nabil al-Eidi, Najwa Radwan, Nisreen al-Najar, Oday al-Sultan, Zayd al-Bahbani, Zeyn al-Jarusha, Zayne Shatat. What dreams did their parents have for them? Then there are hundreds of names of one- and two-year old children; toddlers three or four years of age; children who were five, six, seven or eight, up to the youths who were 17 when they died.

Thousands of names, one after the other, out of the 11,500 children killed by the Israel Defense Forces in Gaza over the last four months. The list flows like credits at the end of a long movie, a mournful tune in the background. The Al-Jazeera network posted the list of names known to it over the weekend, a total of half the 11,500 who were killed, according to Hamas’ health ministry. A child killed every 15 minutes, one out of every 100 children in Gaza.

Around them remained the children who witnessed the deaths of their loved ones, the parents who buried their babies, the people who had extricated their bodies from the fire and rubble, thousands of crippled children and tens of thousands forever in shock. According to UN figures, 10,000 children lost both parents in this war, a war in which two mothers die every hour.

No explanation, no justification or excuse could ever cover up this horror. It would be best if Israel’s propaganda machine didn’t even try to. No stories of ‘Hamas is responsible for it all,’ and no excuses pointing to Hamas hiding among civilians. Horror of this scope has no explanation other than the existence of an army and government lacking any boundaries set by law or morality.

Think of these babies, who died in their cribs and their diapers, of the children who tried to run for their lives to no avail. Close your eyes for a moment and imagine the 10,000 tiny bodies lying side by side; open them and see the mass graves, the overcrowded emergency rooms, with ambulances spewing out more and more children who are rushed in, unclear if dead or alive.

It’s happening, even now, just over a one-hour drive from Tel Aviv. It’s happening without being reported in Israel, without any public debate over the violent rampage Israel has allowed itself to wage in Gaza this time, more than ever before. This is also happening without anyone in Israel reflecting on what will come of this mass killing, on what Israel might gain from it and what price it will pay for it. Don’t bother us, we are killing children.

The clichés are hackneyed and pathetic: ‘They started,’ ‘there is no choice,’ ‘what would you have us do?’ ‘The IDF is doing everything it can to avoid the killing of innocent people.’

The truth is that Israel doesn’t care, it doesn’t even take any interest. After all, Palestinians don’t love their children, and in any case, they would have only grown up to become terrorists.

In the meantime, Israel is erasing generations in Gaza, and its soldiers are killing children in numbers competing with the cruelest of wars. This will not and cannot be forgotten. How can a people ever forget those who killed its children in such a manner? How can people of conscience around the world remain silent over such mass killing of children? The fact that Israel is not deliberating this issue internally, with no tears or conscience in evidence, only desiring more of this war, until a ‘final victory’ is achieved, does not bind the world. The world sees and is shocked.

The truth is, it’s impossible to remain silent. Even Israel, so absorbed in its grief and its concern for the fate of the hostages; Israel, which itself sustained horrors on October 7, cannot ignore what is happening in Gaza. It takes seven minutes to display the list of thousands of dead children, passing at the same speed as their miserable lives did. By the end, one cannot remain silent; these are seven minutes that leave you choked up, distressed and deeply ashamed.
