As for Russia coming in to help, don’t hold your breath. I do not anticipate Russian Christians coming to save Muslims. They let Libya down, voted against Yemenis at the UN, so don’t expect too much from them. Russia is like all the other Super Powers who only intervene when their own self serving interests are threatened and not because they are more humane or concerned for Human Life. I used to have some faith in Putin but he has not really done much to restore it as he continues to play political games with the USA and Israel.

This isn’t what it seems. In the past week ISIS was defeated in Tal Abyad by Kurdish forces YPG.
This Syrian town is north of Ar Raqqah, and is on the Syria/Turkey border, being the twin of Akcakale just on the Turkish side.
The Pentagon has a problem. It needs ISIS to fight Bashar al Assad’s forces in Syria, but ISIS was defeated there in Tal Abyad.
The Pentagon have reasoned that there is a likelihood of further defeats of their ISIS mercenary adventurers – gathered from 80 different countries, when going south towards Damascus, at the hands of Bashar al Assad forces.
That is why they are recruiting 6,000 Syrians, who hopefully might be better motivated, since the closer they get to Damascus the fiercer will be the resistance, for which military adventurers from 80 different countries might then begin to contemplate that ‘discretion might be the better part of valour’.
