Israeli-born mentalist Oz Pearlman was in the middle of performing a trick for President Trump and First Lady Melania as he hosted the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on Saturday night, when shots were fired outside the room.
In footage from the incident, the performer could be seen standing between the President and First Lady, showing them a piece of paper as part of his performance, as chaos broke out around them. Within seconds, Secret Service members surrounded the Presidential couple, and they, as well as the other cabinet members present, were evacuated from the premises.
Pearlman wrote in a post on social media: ‘Thank you all for checking on me. I am ok and thank G-d everyone is alright!’
The mentalist recounted the terrifying events: ‘Was in the middle of performing for the President and First Lady when I looked up to see a commotion, thought it was a bomb about to go off or shots fired. We hit the deck fast and Secret Service acted decisively and professionally to protect us all.’
He continued: ‘We laid on the ground, I was only a couple of feet away from President Trump, and our eyes locked on one another. It was likely the scariest moment of my life and will never forget it. So happy everyone is ok.’

I saw him with the papers in his hand from news videos and thought he was a waiter asking about their dinner entree’ preference. But, I did think he was standing there for an inordinate number of seconds before reacting. It could be he was delaying the exit of POTUS & FLOTUS. I should have known better. I read yesterday, but cannot know for certain, that the would be assassin wore an IDF shirt and that’s why he was lying handcuffed on the floor with no shirt on. Someone on social media said the arresting officers may have removed his shirt to ensure he had no other weapons or to relieve him of more weapons. Interestingly, Cole Allen wasn’t killed, just as John Hinckley wasn’t killed when he shot Pres. Reagan, just as Sirhan Sirhan wasn’t killed at the Ambassador hotel in Los Angeles, just as LHO wasn’t initially killed in the Texas movie theater, just as John Wilkes Booth wasn’t killed at the Ford theater. I don’t know. Perhaps I’m seeing patterns where none exist.
BTW, does anyone know what’s written on the paper Pearlman is showing/pointing toward the dining harll after people are realizing something has gone wrong? It seems deliberately fuzzy. …..
