Why Gareth Porter (and others who are focused on the decades-long Western effort to frame Iran with having or pursuing nuclear weapons) are not here, I do not know. Why the public is not here, I do not know. Except that Jeffrey Sterling has not been even so much as demonized in the major media.

To their credit, the defense lawyers’ cross-examining of witnesses suggests that they find much of this ludicrous. “Have you ever seen a Russian parts list in English?” was one question asked on Wednesday. Another question: “You say you had people experienced in detecting flaws in fire set plans. Is that because there is a market in such things?” The judge sustained an objection to that last question.

OCDG: The explanations coming out are obviously male cow dung. This is a story concocted for the CIA (nee mossad) in the event of exposure. Something sinister was definitely going on… but the details may never fully see the light of day. Though you can be sure it was an attempt to harm Iran.

  1. No, I neither blame CIA nor those corrupt politicians in Washington… I blame the American people who are silent and careless about the illegal activities of their government.

Those who don’t have real jobs, health care, educational system and many other deficiencies inside their country just because their government doesn’t have enough money for them and for other problems inside the country and still stay passive & silent…

But their government has enough money for wars, CIA’s illegal activities and financial aids to many corrupt foreign countries around the world especially for Israel… it is shame

  2. On January 15, former US secretary of state, Dr. Conoleeza Rice told the jurors that she was stunned to learn that a classified mission to thwart Iran’s nuclear program was leaked to a reporter.

Dr. Rice, an Israel First, was testifying in US District Court in Alexandria, Virginia. It’s the first time CIA has dragged a whistleblower into a civil court under Espionage Act for exposing the $15 billion per year taxpayers intelligence agency (CIA) working for a foreign country.

The trial has nothing to do with punishing CIA for helping Israeli campaign to drag United States into a new war in the Middle East after its defeat in Iraq and Afghanistan which cost Americans over $3 trillion and 6,800 dead soldiers for Israel. The trial is to punish CIA whistleblower Jeffrey Alexander Sterling, an Afro-American, for giving classified information to journalist James Risen about a CIA operation that provided Iran with flawed nuclear weapon blueprints – information that appeared in Risen’s 2006 book, State of War: The Secret History of the CIA and the Bush Administration. James Risen (Jewish) is reporter with the Jews York Times, an Israeli Hasbara (propaganda) newspaper.

According to the book, the Mossad planners proposed that they would be responsible for getting the US-produced electromagnetic devices into Iran with the help of their agents in Iran to sabotage power supply to Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Last year, US attorney-general Eric Holder hinted that his department (DOJ) might not prosecute Risen (being afraid of the powerful Jewish Lobby), saying: “As long as I’m attorney general, no reporter who is doing his job is going to jail.” I bet Holder had Jewish and anti-Muslim reporters in mind otherwise he could have advised Barack Obama not to demand the extension of Yemeni journalist Abdulelah Haider Shaye.

In reality, the case against Sterling is scarcely legal – it is cravenly political. If it were otherwise, the last two CIA directors to leave their posts — General David Petraeus and Leon Panetta — would be going through the same kind of ordeal that Sterling has been enduring. There’s hefty evidence that both Petraeus and Panetta leaked classified information while running the agency. But these days they’re busy getting rich, not in danger of imprisonment for the rest of their lives.

In sharp contrast, it has been quite convenient for the CIA to try to crush whistleblower Jeffrey Sterling, who – whether or not he was a source for Risen’s State of War book – by all accounts went through channels to let the Senate Intelligence Committee know about Operation Merlin, the reckless CIA maneuver that gave nuclear weapon blueprints to Iran in 2000.

On March 6, 2008, Yossi Melman reported in Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz that Operation Merlin was a CIA-Mossad plot against Iran. Melman claimed that “Risen in his book discusses a number of ideas which he says were thought up jointly by CIA and Mossad operatives to sabotage Iran’s nuclear capabilities.”

Melman describes the Operation Merlin as: “The CIA hired a Soviet nuclear engineer, who had previously in 1990s defected to United States and revealed Russian nuclear program. He specialized in nuclear weapon assembly. The engineer was supplied with blueprints for assembling a nuclear bomb in which without his knowledge, false drawings and information blueprint were planted about a nuclear warhead that was supposedly manufactured in Soviet Union. The plan’s details had been fabricated by CIA experts, and so while they appeared authentic, they had no engineering or technical values.”

Melman had a message for the “Freedom of Press” idiots who gathered in Paris to demonize Islam and Muslims. “In Israel, military censorship would have prevented the publication of details such as these.”
