On Saturday 21st March 2015, a massive Christlamic gathering is to take place at the Basilica of Longpont, in the southern suburbs of Paris. The purpose of this gathering is to remember the one about whom the Quran says: “O Mary, indeed God has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above all the women of the worlds” (Quran III:42).

The Qur’an tells us that if God had wanted he would have made us one community, but that was not his choice. A verse enlightens us by saying that our diversity is a source of mutual enrichment. It is time to focus on our commonalities to the detriment of our differences that some cultivate with passion and which others benefit.

At the heart of the religious message: union

This country-bearer of freedom, the freedom that is so dear to us and that we are ready to defend our commitment. The freedom that the great saint Junaid Baghdadi (d. 911) said that it is the highest spiritual station.
