ed note–Keep in mind as you read this, that as an ‘observant’ Jew, what our esteemed Hebraic writer believes (by virtue of her Talmudic training) is that Jesus was a sorcerer who learned all His ‘magic’ while in Egypt for the first 7 years of His life, that He is a false prophet who got what He deserved on Crucifixion Friday 33 AD, that He was a sex freak, the bastard son of a Roman centurion named Panderra and that His mother Mariam was a prostitute who conceived Him while she was menstruating.

Note a few glaring items as well–

1. The manner by which our esteemed Hebraic hasbaratchik transforms the celebration of the birth of Jesus from a Christian and Islamic holiday into a Jewish one.

2. Note also how the Christmas she enjoys contains NOTHING WHATSOFREAKINGEVER of the original effervescence that Christmas has contained for the last 2,000 years–adoration and reverence for Jesus Christ. Instead–in typically Judaic fashion–all the things she claims to ‘love’ about Christmas are superficial and materialistic in nature–Food (in particular salmon, tuna and all the various ‘white soles and basses’ which she loves to shove in her Judaic pie-hole and down her throat) shopping (and the discounts that the holiday season brings) parades, movies, etc.

Anything and everything except Jesus Christ, who–as an ‘observant’ Jew–in her heart of hearts she hates, despite her not-very-credible pretenses to the contrary.

Nevertheless, despite all these glaring red flags indicating that our esteemed Hebraic author is not as much a supporter of Christmas as she pretends, all can rest assured that idiots within various branches of Christendom (and sadly, many within the Islamic community as well) will swallow this bait-laden J-hook all the way down to the bottom of their gullets, not realizing that the entire piece is nothing more than a work of fiction and an extension of the Judaic motto ‘by way of deception, we shall make war’.

The Forward

Every year, from Thanksgiving Eve until New Years Day, there is a feeling in the air of Christmas…and Hanukkah, multiple Shabbatot, many simchas and professional parties.

Christmas is basically a traditional Jewish way of life. We know Jesus was Jewish, and that for centuries our people have been the targets of anti-Semitism because of it. However, this practicing Jew looks at Christmas and all the joy it brings as a sign of Jewish values and many, many successes.

Look at the time spent on family gatherings. Waiting on crowded highways, sitting in airport lounges and spending hundreds of dollars to share a meal, an overnight stay and to spend valuable time together. We observant Jews do it weekly. My non-Jewish friends often joke about wishing how they had the ability to turn off a phone, like we observant Jews all do every Shabbat. Some wonder how they will ever get everything together in time for a festive meal. My answer: you don’t have religious laws restricting your time, so just Go For It!

One tradition I take advantage of from Christmas dinner are the multiple fish course recipes shared. After eight days of fried everything during Hanukkah, nothing tempts me more than trying new takes on salmon, tuna and all the various white soles and basses. Apparently, I am not the only one. I found two great salmon recipes in a new kosher cookbook, “The Healthy Jewish Cookbook” by Paula Shoyer. I also found some more in “Kosher Taste, plan, prepare, plate” by Amy Stopnicki.

How does holiday season begin? With the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade followed by all the sale days. Macy’s best-known owner was Isidor Straus, who died in the sinking of the Titanic. Jewish ties to retail, wholesale and Internet shopping are well known and documented. So are the houses of fashion and distributors of merchandise.

This year I will add two additions to my décor: They both are glass ornaments of women shopping.

TELEVISION, MOVIES AND THE ARTS

I admit: I am a Christmas movie addict. What better way to spend quality family time than to watch the classics like “It’s A Wonderful Life” or the Hallmark Channels and their 24 hour features? Personally, I wish there were a Hanukkah story or two. Why not a movie called “Latkes Fried With Love” or “Dreidel Competition?”

HAVE YOURSELF A VERY MERRY SONG

David Lehman, author of A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs, from Nextbook Press, says that this Christmas phenomenon is just one example of his larger point: that the story of American popular music is massively a Jewish story. Tablet Magazine asked Lehman to list his 10 favorite Christmas songs written by Jews. His only regret? “I really wish that ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ was by Jews,” he says. “That would definitely be in the top five.”

As we light our next Shabbos candles, let’s appreciate the feelings of love, the extra holiday greetings we share on the street with strangers and the sweetness of a simple cup hot cocoa or a bite from a basic sugar cookie.

  1. The word “Christ-mas” is a most serious grave insult to Jesus. It was invented by witches to mean literally “Happy Crucifixion of the Christ” .. in other words, it’s a most severe mocking, scorning, ridiculing, insulting offense to Jesus for having come into the world for saving mankind. The real name of this un-holyday is “Saturnalia” which means ‘Festival of Saturn.” It’s quite clear Scripturally Jesus wasn’t born on the same day that the BIRTH OF TAMMUZ, son of Nimrod and Semiramis was, that was celebrated by Rome in honour of their false god “MITHRA” who as a very corrupted Persian version of the Christ Jesus that was foretold by the Biblical Patriarchs. It’s just simple hard facts of the Better/New Testament/Covenant that this very offensive insulting term to Jesus ‘Christ’mas”, well it’s origins can not be traced back to either the teachings or the practices of the first born again believers (not “Christians”, Jesus nor Paul used the word for a very important reason since it’s a severe insult to the Apostles and their disciples), and it’s indisputable fact that “Christ’mas” (truly “Saturnalia) was not observed by Jesus nor His Apostles (of course, this pagan celebration under the very offensive word “Christ’mas” is less than 190 years old in America) and the Roman festival’s true name before circa 190 years ago was called “Saturnalia” which was celebrated by Romans not by Israelites, which of course Rome celebrated this licentious, lewd, orgiastic, pedo-sexual & pederast, drinking revelry lawless festival in honour of “Saturn” the ‘god of excess” which of course has nothing to do with what Jesus and the Apostles taught. This is a pagan Roman un-holyday..not “Jew’ish”.. but since those “Jews” claim themselves not to be physical Israelites..maybe they are part of the same genetic lineage of some of the Romans who celebrated such satan un-holydays. Such is hard truth as it is also that “Christ’mas” this ultra pagan un-holyday was illegal in America until that last circa 190 years….but hey, Mark.. you just pretend it’s not true and keep misleading your flock into the eternal dark ditch.
Ed note– once again, prima facie evidence as to why we maintain on this website that ‘duh muuvmnt’ is a breeding ground for every species of conceivable insanity, mental illness, and psychological instability and why anyone who thinks that any solution to the very serious problems we are all facing today is destined to emanate forth from this neighborhood is equally deluded as our ‘Geeeezisss Duhcypule’ here.
It also goes to underscore how religion can–even with the best of intentions–destroy a person’s ability to think rationally if it is not tempered with reason, which we were given by the same creator who gave us faith.
