Once again, there is much more to this than will ever be exposed to public international scrutiny. And yes, this incident will be used to further the sunni / shia division that has been so well fueled these past years. The ramifications will go on forever as we all know… down through the generations and families of those directly effected most especially.
I, too, question the timing of this event after so many centuries of this it going on with that peace and relative ease that characterizes the spirit of true Islam.
At the very least, this is another horrific and painful situation guaranteed to spread unease and loss while creating a bloody international stain to spread in the “clash between east and west” in terms of perception.
