Security agencies in the Gaza Strip said they had foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs through a route linked to organized crime gangs collaborating with the Israeli government.
In a statement received by Quds Press on Monday, the force said the drugs had been seized and those involved had been arrested.
The statement said the smuggling attempt was part of what it described as Israeli efforts to use collaborators and other networks to undermine the security of Palestinian society by bringing the scourge of drugs into the Gaza Strip.
The force added that the security agencies would continue pursuing anyone seeking to undermine the security of the Palestinian people or serve hostile agendas, stressing that protecting the internal front remains an ongoing responsibility and that all those involved would continue to be tracked and prosecuted regardless of the circumstances.
