Yes, Virginia, the Jews Stole Christmas
“A new book, Joshua Eli Plaut’s A Kosher Christmas: ’Tis the Season to Be Jewish, documents what we have known all along: The Jews did indeed subvert Christmas.”
“Jews have been the vanguard of an effort to “transform Christmastime into a holiday season belonging to all Americans,” without religious exclusivity. The most important Jewish mechanisms of secularization are comedy and parody, for laughter undermines religious awe. Take, for example, Hanukkah Harry from “Saturday Night Live”, who heroically steps in for a bedridden Santa by delivering presents from a cart pulled by donkeys named Moishe, Hershel, and Shlomo. Remarkably, Hanukkah Harry has emerged as a real Santa-alternative for many American Jews. Plaut sees such things not as attempts at assimilation but as an intentional subversion of Christmas traditions. “Through these parodies,” he writes, “Jews could envision not having to be captivated by the allure of ubiquitous Christmas symbols.” And it isn’t just Jews: for Americans in general, Jewish parody helps ensure that Christmas “not be taken too seriously” and that the celebrations of other traditions “be accorded equal respect and opportunity.”
“People who take their religion seriously do not allow their religion to be ridiculed….The fact that Jews have been able to ridicule Christianity without any serious negative consequences is an important marker of Jewish power and an equally strong indication of the decline of Christian religious belief. I suspect that the organized Jewish community would react in outrage if non-Jews ridiculed religious Judaism. Indeed, any criticism of Jews as Jews is off limits in the mainstream media.”

Thank you Peter the for the link. On the subject of da joos having stolen Xmas (and everything else!), here is a note I had written on an article I had posted a while back:
“Yes, Christmas is in fact a pagan holiday which had been recycled and integrated into the Christian calendar in 354 A.D, replacing the celebration of the day of the Rising Sun by the day of the Rising Son.
No, Jesus was not born on December 25th but in the summer time, according to the New Testament.
But for all Christians throughout the ages, Christmas was never about Mithra or any other pagan deity: it had always been about the Messiah. So whatever one might think over Christmas, let us make no mistake here and recognize any attack on Christmas is a judaic attack on Christianity and on Christ himself (PBUH).
We can and we should detest what Christmas has become – an occasion for over-eating, over-consuming, over indulging, where Jesus has no place anymore. We can and should detest what Christmas has become while we should be celebrating the Messiah more than ever.
Christmas time is the most hated time of the year for the jews. They hate it so much that they are forbidden to have sex on Christmas Eve and Christmas day to ensure no child is ever conceived on these days.
We can but imagine what it must have been for them to live in Europe, when Europe was truly Christian and when she was celebrating Christmas as it should. The only way for them to ‘survive’, to go thru this most traumatic and horrific time of the year was to make it kosher, to turn it to their benefit, in other words, to make a profit out of it.
So they gave us the Christmas “season” thus transforming the holiest time in the Christian calendar into the most profitable season for Mammon.
It is not ‘CHRIST’ which should be removed from Christmas but Mammon. Christians worldwide should take an example of Christ who kicked out the money lenders out of the temple and should kick out Mammon from Christmas.
Boycott Mammon, reclaim Christmas, cleanse it from all mammonic filth and celebrate the spirit and message of Christ over Christmas as it was intended.”
The name Jesus , well …. i did not see him as such but it was the Word and along with the Holy Ghost that i did see . Until i know otherwise i will not be singing Jesus loves me . It was the Word that stood for me and it was the Holy Ghost, the Eternal Spirit that i received breath and did breathe .
Sabba:
1. “Boycott Mammon” is a great idea. In practical real-life terms, what would ordinary people have to do in order to boycott Mammon?
2. “the spirit and message of Christ”: what were/are they? What were the virtues of Jesus of Nazareth that ordinary people should emulate as best we can?
3. Would our emulation of Jesus at Christmas be enough? Or would that emulation need to be all day, every day, for the whole of our lives?
