A senior Israeli official says that ‘the chances of the US and Iran reaching an agreement are virtually nonexistent’ while predicting that an eventual return to military conflict is ‘inevitable.’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his team plan to present US President Donald Trump with ‘fresh intelligence’ on Iran’s military and nuclear recovery efforts during their planned meeting at the White House on Tuesday, including what Israeli officials believe are ‘accelerated efforts’ under wartime-elected Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei to advance toward a nuclear weapon.

The report, citing Israeli sources, does not elaborate on the alleged recovery efforts or the intelligence Israel intends to present.

Previous private presentations by Netanyahu to Trump on Iran’s nuclear activities and alleged violations of its commitments reportedly played a significant role in persuading the US to strike Iran.

Channel 12 reported earlier this evening that Trump ordered the US military not to strike Iran last night, despite the Israeli military having prepared for a significant escalation in the conflict, as Trump is currently in favor of allowing more time for negotiations to progress.

Nonetheless, a senior Israeli official tells the network that ‘the chances of reaching an agreement between the United States and Iran are virtually nonexistent,’ calling an eventual escalation in the conflict ‘inevitable.’
