Ed-note (Sabba) – Quick note on the War on Syria, which I think is not highlighted enough.
The war on Syria did not start in 2011: the US regime had officially declared war on Assad’s Syria in December 2003 with the the Syria Accountability Act.
They have been trying ever since to bomb Syria and break it up, as they did with Iraq, as Oded Yinon suggested. They were stopped in their track by the unexpected Iraqi and Afghani resistance which really took them by surprise.
2005: never giving up on their plans, they had Rafik Hariri assassinated and blamed it on Syria. That did not work either.
2006: Israel invades Lebanon. They hoped that the IOF would crush Hezbollah, that Syria would intervene providing thus the casus belli USRAEL had been looking for. That did not work either and so they came up with their 4th generation warfare gems: the Arab Spring and ISIS.
