As I have often noted before, Ali Khamenei is an ally of Maduro. So was Ahmadinejad.
However President Rouhani is an ally of the USA. Rouhani is a wealthy oligarch who wants to break relations with Venezuela, normalize relations with the Jews, and impose neo-liberalism on the Iranian masses, in order to further widen the gap between the rich and the rest.
Mr. Rouhani canceled the “New Horizon” conference in Tehran as an offering to his beloved Israelis. However the Israeli bombardment of Gaza gave political leverage to Ali Khamenei, who was able to overrule Mr. Rouhani. The three-day conference began on 28 Sep 2014.
One attendee was Gareth Porter, the anti-Zionist-Zionist who came to Tehran promote his new book. Porter thought that by publicly trashing Mark Glenn, he would get a pass from the Jews. He was wrong. Because Porter attended the conference, the Jews pretty much ended his speaking engagements, and ensured that the only way Porter can publish any more books in the future is to self-publish. At most he will get an occasional appearance on RT, which these days has degenerated into just another corporate media outlet.
